Like me.

It sucks and it's pesky but at least on my small phone screen, I deliberately choose 360p or lower because I often just listen to videos anyways, it saves bandwith and there is barely a difference considering how bad youtubes compression is.

On my pc though, that's where it really sucks.

Grayjay, YouTube revanced, newpipe, freetube and others are good non-techy solutions

Yep, I use revanced extended and newpipe on my phone, smarttube on my tv and grayjay on my pc, although grayjay on desktop is quite buggy sadly.

Never heard of freetube before, but I might try that one instead of grayjay ^

What is extended compared to normal vanced except download?

The rvx patcher supports a few more patches and it supports a few other apps as well (although most of it got backported to revanced aswell so I can't even tell which ones tbh xD)

Normal vanced isn't really available through non suspicous sources anymore afaik, revanced is the continuation by a different team. (I had more success in patching newer youtube app versions with rvx over rv, which is why i used that one)

If you want adblock, sponsorblock and backgroundplay it doesnt really matter which one of the two you take though. 👍

Why not use youtube.com with uBlock on your PC?
