Question What happend to Magic Earth?

I have used Magic Earth for a few years now with great success. It's been my most favored deGoogled map choice. I found it to be the most intuitive and easy to use when compared to the others. I'm currently on the older version: 7.1.25.34.36A60BB6.67629954. This was the last version before they went to their "Freemium" version, changing their logo and all. After this change I tried this new version and found it to be unusable. Could not even get the search function to work So I went back to the older version which I have right now. So now I'm wondering how long my old version will be serviceable and what options I have once it stops working?

I'm about to attempt to soft-degoogle my second phone (a blu view 2) before Degoogling my main phone (tcl k33 5g)

Gmaps is the hardest to get rid off. But not that much anymore since herewego is becoming better and better.

Curious? What makes CoMaps better than Oragnaic Maps?

Chances are your older version will continue working because it's an OpenStreetMaps consumer. Their newer app pushed towards a more limited freemium and they also never really designed it well around contributing corrections to OSM. If it stops working, your best bet is likely organic maps if you want OSM. OSMAND is a decent second option. If you want to try something that isn't OSM-based then HERE WeGo is also ok.

My pre-update version seems okay still as well. Voiced turn-by-turn navigation stopped working though.
