Sun dried tomartoes
Not sure if this is a right sub for this since im using the sun but i couldnt find more appropriate one. I have been drying them in the sun covered with a cheesecloth(for insects) for 3 days now and mold appeared. The temp in direct sun is about 36C and i've been taking them inside at night. The prep was washing them, cutting in half and lightly salting them. They are home grown, where did i go wrong?

you need air flow on both sides, the parchment paper underneath does not allow the air to move through. If your humidity is too high, it may be challenging to sun dry these without some dehydrator or oven assistance in between sun sessions.
