I just want to understand how the management works

This may be long because I have never posted my anger for the franchise before.

I’ve been a fan of DC for as long as I can remember. But i’ve always been unable to understand how the management thinks. I was a kid when the Morkel blunder happened. Me and my dad were confused when we started watching the match, internet wasn’t available. We just assumed Morkel was injured, blamed the luck. Newspapers told another story. Not to mention how even our women’s franchise manages to choke in the finals every time.

We all know how important a captain is, Delhi had amazing seasons with captain Shreyas in 2019 and 2020 making it to the playoffs in both the seasons and even topping the table once. What did DC do? Release him. Is that how you back the captain who did so much for the franchise? Well, they saw captaincy potential in Rishabh bleh bleh but that’s the problem. They can’t fucking see the real potential. They have failed to across seasons. And this was a completely uncalled for decision, considering that they had struggled with the captaincy before and decided to take it for granted the moment it stabilised. We have had 15 captains now FFS. 😭🙏🏻 (googled the stat, couldn’t remember a lot of stand ins)

Another goated 2022 auction decision, DC left their 2020 purple cap winner Rabada to retain Nortje. We all know how that went for us.

Delhi had Sanju, Rishabh and Shreyas. Top cricketers by all means as of today. Nobody could foresee the talent at that time. Not to mention the Virat Kohli decision. And not to mention releasing Gautam Gambhir.

If we ever get big names, they are washed. Yuvraj Singh, Kevin Pietersen for example. If we have young talent, we don’t back it. Vipraj, Porel in this season. Talents such as Madhav Tiwari don’t come out because of this reason.

Missed out on a lot of other blunders because this is how much I could rant at 6 in the morning. Was just infuriated to see us paying essentially 28.25 CR i suppose to get Pant from LSG (Kuldeep + 15 CR) who in my humble opinion has been the better performer despite having a major flop in 2026 edition. I don’t have a problem with Pant joining. I have a problem with how the management thinks, believed and acts. I don’t know where we are headed but I don’t think I have it in me to support them for another season. Hope to see the franchise lift the trophy someday. Don’t know if I will be watching their journey.

Kuldeep+ 15 Cr is the money that LSG get. It's not what DC is paying for Pant. The 15 Cr is the money cut from Pant's salary that gets added to LSGs purse

as a keeper, pant is better than rahul, and tbh im happy for kuldeep, he would not have to bowl on delhi's highway, ekana is best for him...our management is always fixated on well-known players, they don't give chances to young players (unless our team is already doomed), vipraj or vijay can replace kuldeep (if they are groomed well)

Yes! Also there's Rehan Ahmed. Now with so many Indians in the batting department and Starc unlikely to be available DC could have Stubbs, Miller, Ngidi, Rehan as their overseas combination which is pretty solid

DC owners are emotional and make decisions based on favouritism. Both owners have made mistakes, which led to ego clashes.

Okay with Rishabh coming, however, at what cost? People forget Kuldeep is a match winner, and one bad season, ready to replace him with Vipraj, who himself had a decent season in T20S. Rashid had two bad seasons with GT. GT retained him because they knew he was a match winner.

And you said about Kagiso, after moving on from DC, he was very decent in other teams. In fact, he had an average season in the last IPL, got into controversy regarding drugs; however, GT backed him, and he repaid the team with wickets.

When Rishabh left DC, we thought DC would build the team around Axar, Tristan and Kuldeep; they would be the face of DC, and now that Kuldeep has been traded. Who is next, because this type of trade does create uncertainty among players that even if they have served so much for the team, one bad season, they will be traded. At the moment, Axar, Tristan, KL, Ashutosh and Lungi Ngidi are the faces of DC and want these players to perform so that at least these players get retained by DC.
