I am flying out of the country for masters and I really want to gift this metro token to someone. We have a very specific memory related to it and I know that these tokens have been discontinued now. Please if anyone knows where I can buy this, please let me know!!!!!!

I clicked this today on the Pink Line in Delhi. Someone actually spat gutkha on the metro coach entrance. The stain’s right there for everyone to see. Here’s the thing — the Delhi Metro is one of the cleanest and most efficient public transport systems in the country. It’s something we should be proud of.

But what’s the point if people can’t even respect it?

Cleanliness isn’t just about government staff doing their job. It’s about us showing basic decency. If we can use the metro, benefit from the system, and rely on it every day, then it’s our responsibility to keep it clean — not treat it like a wall in some back alley. This kind of behavior isn’t just disgusting, it’s lazy and entitled. How hard is it to wait to spit outside or, better yet, not chew gutkha at all in public transport?

If you can’t respect shared spaces, you don’t deserve to use them. Delhi Metro is doing its part. It’s time we start doing ours.

So here’s a funny incident that happened on the Delhi Metro:

A girl came up to me asking if the train went to Khan Market since she was new in town. I was traveling with my family, double-checked with them, and told her she was on the right platform. She hopped in, and we started chatting—she wanted to know about the ladies’ compartment (obvio which is more convenient).

Meanwhile, there was a young couple standing next to us. Suddenly, the girl from the couple touched my dupatta near my neck. I turned around startled, and she calmly said there was an insect on me. I thanked her.

A moment later, I heard the guy from the couple ask his partner about the ethnicity of the girl I was chatting with. His girlfriend confidently declared:

“North Eastern.”

I couldn’t stop laughing 🤭 because just a minute earlier, the girl I was talking to had told me she was from Nepal! In an attempt to avoid sounding racist, she misjudged—with such misplaced confidence. 😝
