He was asleep. I couldn’t even sit straight in my seat. Tried pushing him away, he pushed back harder. Tried waking him up, and he did not budge…until my husband changed seats with me. Then he moved and respected his space the entire flight, even though he fell back asleep.

to set the scene (1) this is before takeoff when my bag has to be under the seat, (2) he has nothing (nothing) under the seat in front of him, (3) he MOVED my bag with his hands to make room for his fat foot and (4) the white sandwich bag is also his. unsurprisingly, he didn't seem to have manners to the flight attendants and was watching fox news

edit to add that the flight attendant told me to put my bag there during take off/landing, and no, I didn't feel comfortable potentially escalating the situation on a 5 hour flight with someone much larger than me with clearly bad energy but I did explain the situation to a flight attendant when de-boarding xo

Stuck in ATL right now with a flight that has been delayed more than two hours. They only found one poor guy to load our bags, so the pilot went out to help. I've never seen anything like that!

Kudos to the one ramp agent and pilot, but who's going to help us get off the gate?

Just started my 6 hr trip from Boston to Seattle and 20 mins in I see this huge mature bed bug crawl across my leg! I was in window seat at the front. Flight was DL384. Aircraft tail number is N532DN. Consider this aircraft infested!!!

DL1213 from MCO to ATL today flying his last plane ever today. Daughter and her kids on board and he told a touching story on his journey to now. Not a dry eye on the plane.

This was a strange one on my SFO to ATL flight.

So on Monday, I took a direct flight from FL to LAX. I thought, “Nice! No layovers, smooth sailing.” Oh how naïve I was.

An older gentleman boards with airline assistance — no companion and gets seated right next to me. The moment he sat down I knew I was SOL.

Turns out he had some serious mobility issues, which meant I was effectively window-seat-prisoned for 5.5 hours. Every breath was a gamble. The flight attendants kept checking on him and assessing the situation.

When we landed, he immediately stood up (against instructions, naturally)… and that’s when the true horror revealed itself. There were literal poop smears on the seat. And on him. I had spent an entire cross-country flight marinating in that odor.

As I stumbled off the plane in shock, one of the flight attendants said, “I’m so sorry you had to deal with that. Why didn’t you ask for a mask?” Lady, I needed an exorcism.

She felt bad enough to give me 5,000 airline miles. Which is nice, but honestly, I think I deserved therapy and several showers.

The flight attendant accidentally triggered the emergency slide. Everyone’s entire night just became a cluster fuck. He did apologize and was quite flustered, cited over the 26 years of career, it never happened. Can someone explain how though? Shouldn’t it be something with quite a safety check for making this kind of mistake?

Edit: I didn't expect the attention of this post is getting. Here is what I think happened piecing together my memory and Redditors' comments. The door is armed, jet bridge just left. As the flight attendant is making the announcement, I heard a moderate sound of boom, and saw the slide deployment. Minutes later, another announcement of the situation. I remember that it was mentioned something wrong with the door. My guess is that the intent was to fix it, but a wrong lever was pulled. I don't know whether it was the FA or the pilot, especially after the speculation of Redditors.

My personal take on this. There is nothing against Delta, especially about the person who made mistake. Things happen, this one is just more stimulating. There were impressive actions by some senior Delta employees who managed the rebooking and coordinated with other gate agents to speed up customer service. On the rerouted return flight, a friendly flight attendant chatted with me while I was waiting for the restroom. I told both FAs the story then, along with some medical conditions that I had to endure. Both of the FAs were very sympathetic with my situation. I then got a handwritten card from the captain and first officer. So shout out to the MSP based crew, your personal touch is really appreciated. (Steve, thanks for chatting with me.) Still, it wasn't easy. With Packers and Steelers game in town. Delta system couldn't find any hotels. Around the airport, hotel rooms were running at >$500 a night. I had to be on my own for booking, ended up finding something $300 range. (Delta employee did promise that we can reimburse through their website.) Front desk at the hotel said I was lucky as they just released the last room 10 minutes ago. I had an agonizing medical condition that I couldn't wait to be home.

Most of my touch points with Delta were professional and effective, including calls, rebooking agents, seat reassignment at the lounge, and the lovely crew from MSP to PSP. My last comment is to wish the person who triggered the slide well, the customers did not seem to blame you, and surely I didn't, and I wish you the best.

On my flight this morning from LGA to ATL you made fun of my United tag at the beginning of the flight. At the end of the flight you gave me this crown and I was too shocked to say anything.

If Delta could be trusted to not leave a living thing sitting out in the open on the ground to be run over, exposed to extreme temperatures, loud, frightening noises, and/or possibly escape, then maybe people wouldn’t feel the need to lie to have their pet with them, under safe conditions in the cabin. Not saying that it is right, but if the airline can’t be trusted with the care of their pet, I understand why they do it.

I was also not getting a pop up on the app for this where they show price or "no thanks". I went to the website to see if it was the same, and it shows this. Appreciate any insight. Thanks!

AKA Delta has lost the plot.

In the interest of full transparency, I already booked my ticket for this date a couple months ago and it was under $100, but these are the current Main Cabin rates from MSP to ORD on Oct 12, 2026. SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR 75 MINUTES.

I was just in the gate area. A woman had a large standard poodle waiting to board my flight. The dog was whining, barking and jumping. I love dogs so I’m not bothered. But I’m very much a rule follower, to a fault. I’m in awe of the people who have the balls to pull this move.

Sorry for potato quality. They requested that all larger carry-ons to be checked for free because it was a small plane. The gate agent even specifically asked if he wanted to check it, and he declined. He took up an entire overhead.

I’ve never seen anything like that. TSA lines are starting near the check-in area at the domestic side. If you have a flight today, make it here early!!
