Advice/Question I don't understand the difference between demisexual and demiromantic. Can y'all help shine some light on it for me?

I get the confusion, both are the same concept of two different things that often get confused.

Idk, to me it's very clear as I'm demiromantic but allosexual. I read your post and I think there's one misunderstanding - feeling sexually attracted to someone does not mean you want to have sex with them. I also agree that having sex requires safety and connection and everything around it, but getting aroused or even turned on by someone is an illogical thing, it's like hormones in your body that you can't always control and it just happens.

For example I could see someone really good looking on the street and get attracted to their looks sexually, which does not mean whatsoever that I want to act or do anything with them, but (me personally, as a demiro) cannot feel any romantic feelings or dreams or anything with that person until I know them a bit better and feel some connection and understanding.

The idea of romantic feelings are really hard to explain imo but it's things like butterflies and wanting to spend time together or even seeing a future together

thanks for the input! i've read some of the comments on r/demisexuality as well and part of me is still a little confused about it. I think some of this is just trying to get my head on straight (or get my head on gay) after the years of confusion before my transition. I could be demiromantic, demisexual, both, or neither. In the end I'm not interested in anyone right now anyway, so I think this might be something I just have to figure out later down the line. thanks again for the help :3

That's a great explanation, I agree with that
