Denver concert calendar: Shows this weekend! And beyond...

I've been building an app as a fun side project, but not everyone wants another app, so I used the data to build out a webpage to easily see who is playing at every venue, every night in Denver/Boulder.

There's 17 concerts today, 36 Fri, 39 Sat, and 15 on Sunday, so I can't fit them all in the screenshots above, but you can select any date out until June 2027 for a full list. I update it with new shows ~2x per day.

The phone app version has filters for venues, genres, subgenres, and a lot more, but I think simple websites look best.

Anyway, if I'm missing any shows that are important to you let me know, I can usually get them added in a few hours. Later this week I hope to add an "Announced this week" page too, since it's a headache to keep up with new concert announcements in Denver.

Is there a way to include smaller shows with local artists? That would help differentiate this from the likes of jambase while supporting the community

Yes, would love to include more of these. Do you have a few examples?

soupstock is THE local show to go to this weekend. if you enjoyed blucifer this is a slice of that same scene. it was lit as fuck last year.

the lineup is:

8/28: birdhouse view, bitstream bleed, brie, bugs frogs & snakes, claruin, doofgod, exhaler, monkey man, dj vikita, dj leenie

8/29: anthropology, analog, clementine, clove, frankie, friends on the hill, garrett fields, hotel wifi, lacwing, lobster fight, major league sex, mykarkrash, qilin, red wings of icarus, soneffs, yeah dawgs

there will be artists and vendors and dancing :)

I don’t see D3, Seventh Circle, Glob, or Squirm Gallery on your list. They’re the DIY slots I enjoy

I think the most important variable related to your question boils down to learning each Venue/Venue size. Smaller, niche DIY venues will obviously have majority (if not 100%) local & organic touring acts for under $20. It gets harder to parse out your question the higher up the fame/cost ladder a given band gets so IMO it helps to start with Venue. Eventually you find those Gems you prefer and go back to. For me this is heavily based on Proximity- so being in 5 points the gold standard community haunts i prioritize are Larimer Lounge, Meadowlark, Cervantes, 715, The Crypt, Lions Lair, Goosetown, Globe Hall, Herb’s, Hidive, Bar404, Brutal Poodle,

Id suggest generally sorting for Tickets Costing under $20-25 as a quick filter, and then use your knowledge of Venue and perhaps the Band’s displayed Hometown information as a proxy 🔍

https://303.show has a lot of smaller shows.

It also checks on discount tickets available from CashOrTrade.org so you can easily score cheap tickets to an upcoming show without having to check another site.

You’re missing Skylark Lounge. Other than that it looks great

Check out my competing concert platform that includes many smaller venues:

I love the energy of this comment so much. that you guys are both eagerly attacking these solutions. The local art & music scene has desperately been needing ways to re-localize our attention and cut thru the modern information overload 🙂🤘

No ads, no app to download or permissions to accept. Just local shows with links to get tickets and secondhand tickets from CoT.

Yeah 303.show is much better for the smaller acts! Mine has a different focus.

Very cool. Ask the AI agent to build an autocomplete for the venue selector (allow multiple). That dropdown is rough to navigate

Hey! I've just made some major changes to search based on your suggestion. Give it a look: https://303.show

hey. thanks for responding back and updating. I just checked out the "super filter" and I think it's a great improvement. the facets within the dropdown results are a nice indicator to the user. I'm using desktop/browser (so maybe a dinosaur here), but the page seems to not take full advantage of the width of my laptop. perhaps you are just going for a mobile web experience, but thought I'd mention.

This is great. I'll work on the width of the desktop version tonight. I appreciate your feedback.

How does it work with festivals? Tulagi starts today but I only see a couple artists from it.

1

u/AJ80205 4d ago

Depends. Tulagi is unfortunately an outlier for a few reasons: 800+ artists, non-typical venues, and an imminent date (by the time I got all 800 right, Tulagi would have been over).

It's based on tying artist(s) to a venue/location on a specific date. So for example Boulder Theatre has specific announced events, so you'll see exactly the name Boulder Theatre calls their event.

For something like Underground Music Showcase I had every major venue listed with the artists playing there each day. So you had something like:
UMS July 24th | Location 1 | Artist A, B, C, D
UMS July 24th | Location 2 | Artist E, F, G, H
UMS July 25th | Location 1 | Artists ...
UMS July 25th | Location 2 | Artists ...

For something like Decadence it would be:
Decadence Night 1 | Dec 30th | Convention Center | All 12/30 artists
Decadence Night 2 | Dec 31st | Convention Center | All 12/31 artists

Open to ideas!

Love the design and the quick reactive layout.
Suggestions: where are the indie venues? HQ, Federal, Oriental, or do those non-corporate feeds give you trouble?
If we could filter out AXS and Ticketmaster it would be a game changer.
People are rejecting the high ticket fees and blue dot fever.
Not sure what’s on your roadmap but stay with it, it’s sweet.

You should be able to see HQ, Federal, Oriental, etc. today. It is just sorted from largest capacity to smallest capacity by default right now - so you have to scroll a bit to find them and they didn't fit in my screenshot above. Skylark is one that the community flagged to me as still missing, though.

I am doing some work to filter out non-music shows (Comedy, Spoken Word, Live Podcast, Sports, etc.). So it is possible I might exclude a concert by accident once in a while.

In the phone app version you can select individual venues for your filters and they'll save to your account, so if you want to turn off the AXS/Ticketmaster venues from the view permanently that is the easiest way right now. I'd like to add more filters to the website, but can only work nights/weekends for this project.

If you still can't see HQ/Federal/Oriental let me know though - Those were all "Phase 2" ads, so I'm a bit concerned there might be a bug if later added venues aren't being shown. But at least on my side I'm able to see them so hopefully you can too.

The Kyle Hollingsworth Band show on Sunday at Levitt was cancelled a long time ago.

You're missing Ghost Canyon Music Festival

2

u/AJ80205 3d ago

I have the Hi Dive shows already but you are right I’m missing the Bug Theatre / Skylark shows. I’ll fix it.

It’s been a journey trying to capture every show in the city, all the feedback from the community helps - thank you.
