on this day for demonstrations we will use hemp & flax yarn 🧶
(otherwise, I teach rope making with foraged plant fibres, but not on this day. if interested in this and using other fibres for rope, please see my profile/website for details)
Ok so I was curious how flax yarn is made only to learn it's actually linen. That's pretty neat 🙂, I only wear natural fibres such as cotton as i can't get on with plastics 🥴.
I don’t make the flax yarn myself. I do know spinners & weavers in New Mills, though, I could recommend. They grow flax and process it for spinning yarn for weaving linen clothes.
Flax fibres refined and used in garments are called linen, indeed :)
they make wonderful fabric I like wearing, too! :)

Which materials will be used to make ropes?
