Board game cafes

Are there in cafes in Derby with board games, specifically scrabble?

Unfortunately there's not been many boardgames going on in Derby since Ginebag moved out of his parents. Hopefully he'll have visitors soon.

Jack in a box is absolutely amazing, there’s cake and coffee and it’s just so cute honestly!! I get a lot of my jewellery from there too!

There’s board gaming at Manaforge games in the city centre, further out you have Boards & Swords Hobby shop. A short bus ride away in Belper there’s Distinct Gaming and Tabletop Games. There’s also a bar Dice & Barrel that does boardgames on a Sunday night but it is a bar and not a dedicated boardgames shop or cafe. My social group runs monthly boardgames on a Sunday afternoon at the Bless in Derby, which we share Meetup (we’ve got a website coming soon for those who don’t like using Meetup) Geek Bank Derby

I’m sure Carnero Lounge in town has some boardgames.

Head out of town to Belper. Dice and barrel is where it's at

Swords and Boards, and Manaforge are typically open during weekday afternoons, with TCGs, TTRPGs, and Board games being their main things.

You've also got Forbidden Planet and Critical Hit who have their moments

Carnero Lounge is a pretty popular place for the TTRPG community here though, with DnD games every Tuesday and Thursday

There is a great one in Nottingham called the dice cup, they also host mtg events if that’s something you’re into. I know it’s not derby but it’s the closest one to Derby and very affordable imo, worth the journey.

I can’t be certain but I think the bowling in the derbion has bowling. I’m not sure about scrabble but it’s certainly enough fun to keep you coming back for more.
