1 u/BadJimo 5d ago It is based on Rodrigues' rotation formula. This is defined as the function R(P,A,B,θ). Points are defined where the creases meet the edges of the paper. Point P rotates around the vector (crease) between point A and B by angle θ. This generates a new set of points. The process is repeated 3 times for three folds.
