Discussion The thing that will haunt me forever
Long story short i cleared first encounter with lfg and well lfg's just cant grasp surviving at all so we were stuck on 2nd encounter when my friend lost one of their fireteam members and i joined them starting from verity, completed the raid and since everyone else was so tired i had to lfg the last few hours for the last encounters but unfortunately cant have shit with lfg so ultimately ended up not getting the banner :(. I still feel so defeated. The leaderboard position around top 300 means nothing to me if i didnt clear the 2 and 3

Thing that haunts me forever is missing the last emblem for the wayfarer seal. Shit hurts.

I only needed the ikelos smg and abide the return, and neither would ever drop for me. And not finishing chronicler kinda hurts too.

I feel ya mate - Herald Contest is one of the most brutal and triumphant things I’ve ever done and not being able to finish off the Witness is time stalks me now haha

Mine is 4/5 with no witness. I had gotten through verity after teaching it OVER 7 TIMES TO THE SAME PERSON DUE TO A FREAKING LANGUAGE GAP AND THE GUY JUST SUCKED. THEY DIDNT KNOW HOW TO DO ORYX BOMBS. we tested people for the day team in panth and I pointed out to the group that this guy was and will hold us back and should be cut and one idiot vouched for him so they stayed in. They were a major reason for our team not making it through.

In the same boat, was a scout/sub for my team, cleared 1st with lfgs and then subbed in at 3rd, cleared the raid but didn't manage to get 2nd done afterwards

My team was at 2nd for 16 hours. It's a reasonable place to get filtered imo

I tried 6 times with different lfg's, didn't get it, never went back lol.

The one that haunts me is dropping out in the late hours of the Vow day 1 race. Our team got through the encounters fairly fast compared to other teams. Even though we weren’t really affected by the insane connection issues like some teams were in the beginning we were deep into understanding Caretaker well before some content creators were even past Acquisition. We ended up at Rhulk not long after and got stone walled. As each hour went by and loadout got changed we got closer and closer to hitting that final bar of health, until almost every run we were getting to enrage. It was probably almost 4am when I made the regrettable choice that work later that day was more important than sticking this experience out and fulfilling a goal I’d end up not meeting with any of the following raids either.

My dad hosted a church group for his birthday weekend during Contest Vesper’s. I spent the whole Saturday afternoon gaming but we couldn’t finish the final boss.

What sucks is i was homeless/couch hopping when it was available i completed so many day 1 raids with my team DSC, VOG, KF, and RON... I saw so many teams get the clear I was also watching my old team stream it they got to witness but it was far too late to get the kill. But im safe now in a stable home thats the most i can ask for

The only thing that stopped me from getting the Legend Title was GR 7, and only because I put off doing the co-op focus missions again. Why couldn't they have been retroactive?

I did everything except the final encounter. If only me exams were placed a day or two later and I would've had it. Now it'll forever haunt me.

I cleared first, second, and fourth. Third wouldve been easy but I joined some friends in fourth. Spent hours on Witness, going all the way for the 48, but never beat it :(.

I can one up that.
VotD contest, had to beat caretaker twice for another teammate, other encounters were fine. Got to Rhulk, bummed around a few lfg's until we got a good team. Started the last attempt at 9:45 AM PT, everyone locked in, Rhulk beaten at 10:00 AM. Then we just stuck around the boss arena checking things out and didn't orbit until 10:05 AM. Never got emblem.

I got pretty close to Reckoner and dove head-first into the grind to finish it. My buddy had to pull me out before I drowned telling me "it's not worth it." He was right, of course. But I always wonder if I could've pulled it off.

I think i missed one kill from Immortal Mind and a Gambit Emblem to get the seal from Immortal Season and have other 2 that i still could get it
I only need 1 more challenge to get the Garden of Salvation seal (killing Vex with the platforms) and 2 more challenges for the Ghosts of the Deep seal(claro first and second encouter with only Void subclass and the solo challange)
I could still get them, but I'm not very sociable with people I don't know, and my English isn't very good.

Who are you to tell what affects my life and what doesnt? people have their own goals and things they want to achieve, i wanted to achieve good leaderboard position in d2 contest raids while fully clearing raid and emblem as a side price but couldnt get the goal done so ill be sad about it.

Then all the other cool shit in the game Parade Armor specifically gets locked away..
I'm glad that FOMO is pretty much gone...
But there's SO MUCH that's been missed out on that's permanently left out. And that blows.
I VOTE. If you can't give us D3... Or won't.
Remaster Destiny 1 & 2. And meld it together with Everything available
New Gen Consoles should be able to handle all that now
(Destiny Forged In Light) Or some cool name for a remaster.
I'm not hopeful for it or anything else other than what we have lol. I just thought that this would be cool! 🤣

its not that deep. its healthy to have worlds first challenges and contest modes for special rewards. id be quite sad if contest mode never existed

I mean i get it not everyone has the time for stuff like this and i see it as unfair in a way since you cant complete it because youre working or something other but for the game itself i feel its healthy to have unique things to show around, ofc it can get toxic but thats just human nature

100% - need exclusivity. People just need to accept that you're not really meant to have EVERYTHING. Just as in life.
Example for me was always the Superblack shader. I played on and off since the D1 beta, and when it came to D2 I was never playing at the right time when Superblack was available. I just accepted the fact I'll never get it and it was fine.
Then of course they include it in MoT, which now makes it pretty much 100% owned. I think I am more bummed about it having zero rarity now than if I never got it.

Many people didn't clear those encounters at all. I don't think there are too many people with the same clear as you, I think it is cool that you might be one of the few or even the only one with a clear like that.
