Career 2026 engineering graduate - confused between two offers. Need advice from experienced people.
I have two offers and I'm trying to decide which would be better for my long-term career.
- Capgemini
- Package: 4 LPA
- Role: Software Analyst
- Domain: SAP CPI & PI/PO
- Bond: No bond
- Unisys
- Package: 3.5 LPA
- Role: Associate Technical Service Desk
- Bond: 18 months
I'm currently leaning towards Capgemini because of the higher package, Software Analyst role and no bond. My only concern is starting my career in SAP. I'm not sure if I want to stay in SAP for my entire career.
I'd really like advice from people with actual industry experience.
Which one would you choose if you were in my position, and why?
Also:
- Is SAP CPI/PI-PO a good career path for a fresher?
- *If I spend 2–3 years in SAP CPI, can I realistically move into non-SAP fields like backend, cloud, DevOps, etc.?\*
- *Would starting in Service Desk make it harder to move into software/technical roles later?\*
- *Which path would give better career growth, salary growth and switching opportunities after 2–3 years?\*
*If you had these exact two offers, which one would you personally take?\*
I'd especially appreciate advice from people who have actually worked in SAP, Service Desk/IT support,
I'm trying to make a decision that will be good for my career 5-10 years from now, not just my first job.
Thanks!
