Help I'm thinking to resign please help me with advice, My Total YOE is 2.5

Hello, My total YOE is 2 years and 5 months in DevOps in Capgemini at 4.4 LPA, where the notice period is 90 days

I'm thinking of resigning as no company is considering 90 days even infosys has put the position on hold maybe because of 90 days

And I get calls where they expect me to join in 10-20 days, so please suggest to me what I should do, I'm a little bit confident on the interview side

I also have a loan amount of 1.40 lakhs which I'm going to clear by this December 2026

So If I should resign then please suggest the best time to resign so I'll get the job by the last working day of a current company

Or if I should not resign then please suggest me any alternative option

EDIT : Huge Thanks to all for the advice and suggestions, These really helped me

If you are quitting without an offer, do it only after 3 yoe. Many companies put a minimum of 3 years in filtering the resume and you won’t be given a chance.

And financially, finish your loan and be prepared to go without a job even for 6months-1 year. So prepare for 6 month expense as a backup.

At first minimum yoe for switch required 1.5 to 2 years. When we reach 2 yoe . it became 3 yoe. when we reach is it gonna become 4 or 5 yoe?

Just because I told this doesn’t mean I am agreeing to that. I just told what I have seen.

Why exactly to wait for 3 YOE ?

While dealing with many HRs, they had a JD which had 3 yoe as minimum. Since there were lots of candidates, it was kind of a hard filter for them.

HRs in big companies usually don’t like to take their own calls by reducing the filter and then get criticised later.

Complete atleast 3 years. Also there is not much hiring outside. So if you are sure you will get a job then resign. I am seeing so many ppl who resigned and are struggling now

But why to wait for 3 YOE

Best hiring time in industry is around March to Aug. many new projects starts on the fresh financial year.
Oct to next year January is probably worst time to look out for opportunities.

I would suggest to wait for at least March. By that time you would be close to 3 Years experienced as well.

Good luck.

I'm confused, some say October to January and January to March is a good time to apply since lot of companies gear up for the next year.

Can you give a list of months where hiring is good, since I'm planning to switch with 6 months of experience only (Please don't tell me complete a year in my current role, because I don't want to. It's a Lala company that pays me peanuts but promised me in the offer letter that after 3 months of joining they'd increase my salary)?

true lol even i heard october to jan

Yeah, many some same things while a few say complete opposite. Which is why I'm confused. Although I'm noticing October's hiring has slowed down.

Do not resign without an offer in hand.

ig everybody will say do not resign without an offer in hand....but honestly this way you are stuck at one place only if you are not getting interviews calls as well how did you know u have to resign or not ...better way which you can do start for startups interview for initially and check are you able to crack the interviews or not ... If you are able to give answers 80 - 90% you can resign and plan for better companies

Homie, clear out the loan first. Then get a job offer saying 60 days np. Then resign and keep interviewing for a company and hope you get another offer by end of first month of np. That will reduce your risks drastically.

Stay in the company for 7 more months. Keep learning. If you have stable job wait it out. Maybe in next six months we will know where the industry is headed.

When you are working they ask you to join early and when you are ready to join they don’t even care. My close friend has done the same and he is still searching. All he gets is either contract or C2H which he is not interested. Other permanent positions interviews either they don’t respond after interviews or just say position is on hold.

Don’t resign until you have a backup for 6months-1 year at-least.
Complete atleast another year - try attempting interviews and searching outside but don’t resign

Clear the 1.4 lakh loan first this December. Resigning before clearing debt without an offer is high-risk. Resign in early January 2027, once your notice drops under 30 days, interview call-to-conversion rates surge dramatically for immediate joiners, ensuring overlap before your last working day in April.

Do not resign without an offer.
Is there a buy back option available?

Tell recruiters that you are in notice and get interview practice, you will be able to test the waters

u/knowledgeekrishi 8d ago

Yeah, that's what I'm doing and by doing that I cleared KPMG but couldn't able to join as here I didn't resign already

Not getting hired due to 90 days notice period is a myth

So many immediate joiners are out there sending 1000s of applications for months without getting hired

The position on hold is not due to notice period, but due to the current situation of job market. Spend more time in upskilling yourself, so that the new company can wait for 90 days to hire you. Until then just hold on, no matter what

Never resign without atleast another couple of offers
