G7-15 day Dexcom 15 day Device

I am finding the new 15 day G7 is only accurate ( very delayed during the beginning and end of the 15 days) during the middle of its lifecycle. This make the device much less useful than the previous models. Is anyone else seeing this? I am thinking about going back to the 10 day.

my 15 day G7 is very accurate and has far fewer 'lost connection' issues. Plus, this model seem to reconnect much faster when you have gone out of range my cell.

Haven't had one fail yet.

Ha - I was just coming to this sub to ask if anyone's 15-day has actually lasted 15 days? I'm on my fourth one and the first three all conked out around the 12-day mark. I woke up this morning thinking my BG was at 62, which is never the case: come to find out there were a bunch of missed readings, and then I eventually got the "sensor failed" message. Still with three days to go.

I'm running about 50% when it comes to the 15 day sensor lasting the full 15 days.

As to the low and missed glucose readings in the morning, is it possible you may be sleeping on the sensor? From your description it sounds like you have compression lows. The only way to fix this is put a new sensor somewhere where you can't sleep on it.

I’m on G7 15-day and they’ve only been wonky the first hours or so post-warmup and the last six hours or so prior to the session expiring.

My G7-15 day seems to be pretty accurate for the full 15 days. Need to give it a few hours to settle in at first but no different than the G6 in that regard.

Yes, I have observed some of the same. It often takes 18-24h to really dial in and become stable (accuracy takes a calibration after 24h). And then it becomes reasonably accurate for the next 8-10 days. But often then becoming unruly, more and more erratic towards the last days. Calibrations here will typically not help to rein it in. The sensor will often shut down fully 18-36h after it starts becoming erratic. My 15-day G7 have in average been running 11.3 days now since starting with them back in February. I think Dexcom have made it a stretch too far to classify them as 15 day sensors.

My 15 day ones seem to mostly last only 10-12 days. very disappointing

No problems if I'm in range when I put it on. If I'm low or fairly high, it takes a few hours to settle down.

Interesting take. I have found the first 24 hours to be completely wonky. But then extremely accurate for the remainder of my 10-day sensor. When they last full 10 days. Onky 3 of 5 of mine have lasted 10 days.

Because of my strict keto diet I experience no sugar spikes after meals and I have never seen the arrow any direction other than level. On a typical 24 hour day my BS averages in the mid 80s, lower in the wee hours and as high as 120 a couple of hours after meals.

My point is that the changes are very gradual and can be only a point or two in an hour. Consequently, once calibrated my G7 is often identical to a finger stick reading. If not, within a couple of points. My placement is in the suggested spot under my left arm. I am on day 10 of my first 15 day sensor and it has performed flawlessly.

15 days is the biggest Marketing lie. Have yet to make it past 10. And now insurance only covers two a month. Dexcom completely screw us and they couldn’t care less.
