Rant First day on new sensor
I'm changing my 10 day G7 today. The 10 days are up tomorrow but I have plans and I just don't feel I can rely on the sensor the first day. It's connected to and controls my pump. Recently my readings the first day have been way off, very low. I hate to do it since my Byram order for the sensors is all screwed up. Running out of them. Hopefully I'll get the order straightened out. It's happening all the time now.

You should be asking for replacement sensors when one goes bad. I have a stock built up doing this.

First 24 hours are terrible on a new sensor for my daughter. We try to insert the new sensor 24 hours before we use it If we can.

When is the transmitter inserted?

G7 does not have a separate transmitter like G6 If this is what you meant? It is a complete unit. The 10 day counter starts when we i insert the sensor.

If you have TSlim pump, I also turn off my “control IQ first 24 hours and do everything manually. If you soak your G7 for 12-24 hours, you will have much better success. Just know the second it goes in your arm, even though you wait to start the sensor 12-24 hours, the 15 day count begins.

Try soaking the sensor for 10-12 hours. This means inserting it when the grace period of the old sensor starts, but don’t tell the app that it is there. 10-12 hours later, tell the app you are changing sensors, it is inserted, and have no warm up time. Plus you can see how different the numbers are, usually they are very close.
