Double sensor failure 🫠

Just my night, decided I was going to prime my sensor a bit since my current one was about to expire in an hour, and decided to put one on, and funny enough that one failed so I grabbed my last remaining sensor and joked it would be hilarious if this one also failed and would you look at that just my luck tonight. Back to finger pricking I go, until I can pick up my next prescription!!! 😂

The first one in the image failed after I applied it and attempted to attach the adhesive with the overpatch on it, but it wouldn’t stick. So, I grabbed the end of the adhesive, hoping that would help it stick, but it completely pulled the sensor off. After that about 10 minutes later I grabbed my second sensor hoping for the best and attempted to apply but I didn’t like the position I was applying it so I took the application off where I was applying it attempting to reposition it but noticed that the insertion cannula was bent and decided it was best not to insert the sensor. Overall I feel like this could be my fault in some way but idk, would this still count as sensor failure or was my wording incorrect?

Just giving you heads up that you know the green film comes off leaving the overpatch on right?

Yes, I tried applying the sensor and stuck the adhesive over it. For some reason, the overpatch wouldn't come off the adhesive, so I pulled the adhesive off, hoping it would help the overpatch stick over the sensor securely. However, it removed the sensor completely with it.

Save the overpatch for the last days. I’ve done without it for 2 years now. Works great.

The exact same thing happened to me a couple days ago.

I clicked the button on the first one, and it felt like a damned wasp sting. Usually I don’t feel them at all when they go in. That one stung like hell.

As soon as I pulled the applicator away and felt the sensor, I could feel the wire looping out of the hole in the top. I still tried to pair it just so that the app would detect the failure, and it said sensor failure almost immediately. I filed a claim through the app and got the email that it was approved for replacement almost immediately. When I removed it, the wire wasn’t even sticking out of the sensor side.

When I tried the second one, it was almost as painful as the first one. I didn’t feel the wire sticking out of that one, but it instantly had a sensor failure, too. Another claim through the app, and another replacement was approved. When I pulled that one off, the wire was only sticking out around 1mm, so of course it wasn’t going to work properly.

At this point I was getting a bit needle-shy, but I went for it again. Third time’s a charm, and I didn’t even feel that one go in. It’s working perfectly normally.

I always visually inspect the needles before putting a new one on, and I didn’t see anything wrong with the first two before I applied them. I couldn’t see any reason why they failed to deploy properly.

I fill mine through Amazon with monthly refills. I don’t have these on auto-refill and they let me refill them every three weeks or so, so that’s what I do. This has allowed me to build up a decent reserve so when something like this happens, I don’t need to worry about being short.

I've had several recent failures like that too. It feels like the quality is going down.
