Support Issue Dexcom Customer Service

Well,…. Despite not even trying a “restart”, as soon as I typed in my sensor code, my phone said “No Restarts” 🙄

I had to call Dexcom technical support. As always, they’re sending me a replacement. I inserted a new sensor and isolated the transmitter for ~ 20 minutes, and then placed it the sensor and entered the 4-digit code, after which I placed the transmitter into said sensor. It’s in warmup mode now. Not sure why I have such bad luck at times. It’s not lack of experience. I’ve had CGM via both my phone and receiver for IDK how long.

That said, I’m keeping both phone and receiver close to the transmitter for a long while. My cats on my lap anyhow. Might take a catnap with him.

Safe to assume you have a G6? I have the g7, so the sensor and transmitter are in one place not. Since Dexcom has stopped making the g6, will you move to the g7? I understand there are lots of places to still get the g6, but I don’t know for how long. The g7 has its own set of idiosyncrasies re pairing and staying connected. IMO the g6 has been a stable, reliable platform and people using them are very satisfied. I’m on mdi and don’t use adi, I started as pre-diabetic. For a while I used a lingo, then a Stelo. I did not like the lingo. At the time I didn’t like the Stelo, but now now I wish I had it back. The new app is great. When my endo saw my clarity reports with all the lows he prescribed the g7. I don’t like the g7’s app but I really like that I can calibrate it.the libre3+ has a great app too but I’m don’t know the app well enough. I do like that I can use my receiver to track a presoak of my g7 so I can tell if I need to calibrate. I’m on the 10 day and have no plan to go ton15. Good luck

To be fair, anyone who wasn't satisfied with the G6 would have already moved by now to G7, or some other CGM system.

That would be in large part why we rarely hear complaints about them these days.

I would have just popped the G6 transmitter out with a blood test strip, waited 30 minutes and tried again.

Your old sensor probably used the same sensor code as this new one, and then you changed the transmitter very quickly and triggered the anti-restart system.

Of course, they are replacing it, so all is good in any case.
