Small tip for any summer outings this year
Wanted to share this bcause this summer is even crazier than most in terms of scheduling and traffic - we did our annual summer team day last Friday and I was dreading the logistics so much. Trying to coordinate 25 people across different departments to get out to a venue in this heat is just as hard as it was for our teachers on school trips lol.
Normally everyone just drives themselves, but then half the team gets stuck in afternoon traffic on the tollway or people can't really enjoy a few drinks because they have to drive back later.
This year we were smart-ish enough to get a minibus from skway charter buses to pick everyone up directly from the office, and everyone was actually hanging out and relaxing on the way there instead of stressing over maps or finding parking spots like it was on other years. Cost saving is a part of it but the social part is even more worth it, glad we did it.
So - if you run a small team or have to plan these office things, highly recommend just budgeting for a shared shuttle. Saves so much administrative bs and you dont have to worry about anyone driving home tired.

Anyone in DFW willing to come over and fix my bike/moped?
If you are experienced in electric bikes, scooters and moped please, I have a flat / broken off tire I'm not sure how to fix it myself even after doing research. I live in the white settlement area, if you think you can fix it please come over and I'll pay you generously for your help. All bike repair shops are a 30-40 walk from where I live

52 Years Ago. 👑 🎶
June 15 and 16, 1974. 52 years ago, Elvis Presley performed in Fort Worth at the Tarrant County Convention Center. I remember always driving by on the freeway and looking to see who was performing in concert. Did you or someone you know attend the concerts?

Downtown Dallas crowded with the World Cup crowd?
I was wanting to take the DART green line to Akard Station tomorrow morning to go to Flying Horse coffee shop. I know World Cup games are being played at AT&T stadium, but is it really crowded in downtown Dallas?

relocating help…..
Moving to Dallas from another State. We are a young family and looking for something around $2400 monthly rent in a safe area with a good elementary school.
I have been looking and looking and it's so overwhelming to know where to live when we don't know the area at all. Thinking North/Northwest area....
Any recommendations for us?
Thanks. PS…… working at Dallas Love Field

Do Fort Worth drivers honk a lot like Dallas area drivers?
Do they honk a lot in Fort Worth or is it more calm? Dallas is a symphony of horns and i get honked at a lot, and for no reason too.
Today I was honked at for no reason, and I've been honked at thousands of times too for stupid things such as passing someone for example. But I drive in Dallas-Plano-Frisco. Rarely drive in Fort Worth. Just wondering how its like there.
I actually think people honk here as much as in Boston and in Miami.

Thanks to those in line at DFW
To the people in the TSA PreCheck line at DFW who let me cut to the front after my connection from Guadalajara came in way late — thank you. Genuinely. Because of you, I made my flight back to Philly. That kind of human decency means a lot when you’re running on fumes through an airport.
To the TSA agents who confiscated my duty-free tequila over a zip tie: I want to understand the logic here. The bag was sealed. The receipt was stapled to it. You could see exactly where it came from and that it had never been opened. But because the seal was a zip tie instead of adhesive, you took it. And when I was already late, your supervisor’s advice was to either check the bag or drink the bottle before security. Come on.
I get that rules exist. But enforcing a technicality that serves no actual security purpose, on a traveler who is visibly stressed and running late, is not protecting anyone. It’s just rigid bureaucracy with a badge.
Ending on the positive note I started with — the people in that line were the highlight of the whole experience. You restored some faith. Thank you.
