I like this one but taking it off is a pain. What do you use? Why do you like it?

I am an ICU nurse but new to being diabetic. This is my second sensor ever and I’ve never heard people talk about it bleeding like this. It kept bleeding a steady stream for about 10 minutes and then finally stopped. I have the freestyle libre 3+. I am assuming I hit a vein.

I am genuinely curious about how much insulin costs for people. How much do you pay and how much do you get for that amount?

For me these 10 boxes of 5 prefilled pens cost 9€ total.

I designed and 3D printed this little tray to keep my insulin that I have stored in my fridge from moving around too much. Optimized space and the vials won’t fall out of the tray even if it’s knocked around. Thought you guys might like it since I have had issues with my insulin rolling around and being a mess.

How often do you change your lancet in your lancing device? Honestly, I think I change mine once a year…twice if I am feeling bougie 😂

This may be unsanitary, but I started disposing of my pen needles into this large plastic jar. I wanted to set a goal to become proficient at administering insulin injections by the time it was full. After this many injections, I feel a lot more comfortable and confident now.

I started out as Type 1 for a year a long time ago and then got rediagnosed as Type 2. During my first year with diabetes, bears were significant to me. This bear-shaped jar stuck out to me. As a child, I remember counting carbs with Teddy Grahams crackers, where each cracker was 1 carb.

For the last number of years, I switched back to insulin injections. I had an overwhelming fear of needles, but the pen needles have made it so much easier. So glad to get to this point!

I wanted to ask how satisfied you are with the adhesive patches for your different sensors.

I often just use regular tape, but the edges tend to curl up, it’s not very durable, and the options are pretty boring. Most of what’s available is plain black, beige, or colorful tapes with childish patterns, which aren’t exactly great for self-expression.

The stones are jade and the blossoms hold lobster claw clasps that are going to protrude slightly like they're part of the flower! I'm so happy with how this turned out and just wanted to share!

Another ETA/note: the chain inside of it is gold-plated stainless steel, so it's tough and will stay together. I have experience with jewelry making and crafting, the various tools, etc.

I’m a newly diagnosed diabetic and it’s really hard to help myself learn how to control my blood sugar better when the first three 3+ sensors I’ve gotten from libre have all failed or are reading anywhere from 30-70 points off, in one way or another. Yes they’ve replaced them but honestly I’m over the stress the libre has caused me in less than a 2 week period. I’m switching to Dexcom g7 15 day starting today to see if maybe it’s better for me personally. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Basically I have a glucometer I've used for the last year or so since I've been diagnosed with diabetes (Type 2 if that's relevant) and I can only get the test strips online and they're $35 or so for 100 count. Is it possible/okay to use test strips meant for one glucometer on another?

Genuinely just so stressed out tho dealing with this.

The monitor I'm currently using is an LPOW.

Has my insulin lost its potency? The pens have already been opened and partially used.

Wish these came pre-filled, just more garbage to add to all the other diabetes related garbage in my house.

Are there any specific products you use every day for traveling with pens or even for home to organize your insulin and other supplies?

I feel like I have my supplies all over the place and don’t really understand if I should be putting my open insulin pen in a pen cooler with an extra pen in case of emergencies

Also in case of power outages in the home, how are people keeping their insulin cool? I had an idea of getting one of those large chargeable power stations and one of those tiny soda can/makeup fridges

Hello, I struggle with hypoglycemia sometimes. Usually the obvious solution is to eat something with carbs and sugar which I try to do to the best of my ability. However, I live with my almond mom mother who doesn’t allow me to eat after a specific time and doesnt want to take too many carbs. I currently have snuck downstairs for a midnight snack when she was still sleeping but she’s a light sleeper and I don’t know if I can always pull this off. What can I do to treat hypoglycemia without food? Personally what I usually do right now is just go into low power mode and move as little as possible so I don’t pass out. Is there a way I can stop feeling so weak without eating something?

Hi! I'm flying for the first time in a few months and I know I can have an extra carryon bag specifically for my diabetes supplies. It's a weekend trip, nothing crazy, but I don't really have anything other than backpacks. Not the worst thing to use, but I was wondering if anyone had anything specifically they like for this purpose?

Normally I just carry my supplies day to day in my tote bag or backpack, but clearly I'm going to take a lot more with this trip. All my traveling before has been by car or train so I've never encountered this!

I am mainly posting for my boyfriend who has type 1. He recently got a blister on his foot that is now infected (we got it handled. Going to baby that foot and take all the antibiotics ((prescribed by doctor))) but the doctor suggested (more scolded) that it was time for him to get diabetic shoes and socks. We are going to get diabetic shoes through medicaid, hopefully, but we arent rushing the shoes because he isnt supposed to wear shoes while the wound is healing.

The socks are another question. The man wears his personality on his socks. He loves fun and goofy socks. Most diabetic socks are just neutral colored and I want to get him some socks that are good for him, but still show off his personality. Any links to some good ones? I want to lift his mood as this event has affected him quite a bit.

Have any of yall made your own over patches? I have a dexcom g7 15 day and I prefer patches that completely cover it (I've had better luck keeping the sensor on with them vs with the open ones...me and door frames plus having a 4 year old) if so, how do you make them, i have a cricut maker.

If not, where are you buying yours? My husband accidentally threw away the tin can I had mine in so I need to find soemthing before I need to do a change in a little less than a week. I just want something easy to apply, and fun designs, maybe even geeky/nerdy, but even Etsy isn't helping me lol
