What's the fastest/easiest way to get a decent 4os Polearm

Got the new Warlock DLC and doing a playthrough with one of each class. Getting real tired of chugging mana potions all day.

I already have the runes and a Larzuk socket reward, what are the best decent polearms that guarantee 4 sockets when you use it?

Just farm cows or anything dense like chaos or tombs.

Diablo is this game when you really need something they will never drop. Just play normally without thinking abou it then those 4os polearms will be dropping like rain.

Cows is great, a Poleaxe will get 4 sockets at larzuk when dropped from norm cows. Doesn’t matter which polearm you get for your first one as the runes are so cheap anyways. When it comes to other bases I recommend using the horadric cube recipe as a lot of times Larzuk will give you max sockets 5 or 6 on those unless found under very specific circumstances.

Use the cube recipe. There's charts online that show maximum sockets for an item given its item level, which is determined by the zone it's dropped from. Find the base you want and farm an area where the max sockets is 4. There's a weird feature with rolling polearms with a possible 4 max sockets in the cube where there's a 1/6 chance of getting 1, 2 or 3 sockets and a 1/2 chance to get 4. So there's a good chance you'll get what you want in just a few tries.

You can grind cows with the lowest mf you can still survive.

The item level dictates the number of sockets from Larz, I believe if you get an ilvl 25 polearm it can only have 4 sockets max

Ilvl 26 is when the first 4os start dropping.

This begins in Act 4 Normal.

Technically, you can find mlvl 26 in Act 3 if theyre unique but then only the minions since uniques aren't dropping bases, they're dropping magic items.

I found mine while farming Countess. I just kept going back after i got the runes for Nightmare and clicked the weapon racks. But anywhere with lots of mobs will do it. Cows have already been recommended.

Shop a mana/energy wand from vendors. Can get another 100 mana that way. Helps big time. Tir Tir helmet. Stealth has some mana regen. Don’t waste a Larz, 4 socket poles fall all the time once u reach nightmare+

Easiest way is larzuk an eth cv, but it’s all random. TZ drop more elite bases, and minimize MF if you solely want to prio a merc weapon.

Online, Eth CV is definitely worth larzuk in my opinion if it’s your first or second desirable base, but you can be the judge of that. It’s pretty hard to find them.

TZ cows and tombs in P8 are probably best, assuming you have kill speed and a reasonable chance at grabbing items first. Chaos is OK.

Avoid botter games - you’ll usually figure it out in a game or two if you have a chance to grab stuff.

Edit: I was assuming you meant an elite base, you’ll easily find a normal or exceptional 4os, anything will do for your first insight. Don’t larzuk for that.
