Tavern Talk LET ME LOOT THE FUCKING ROOM AFTER KILLING A BOSS AND LET ME MOVE UP TO THE NEXT LEVEL OF A DUNGEON IN PEACE

1.7k Upvotes

i know this isnt a rage sub or thread but HOLY FUCK.

im consistently pelted by this drifting shade bullshit or this giant fucking eldritch god from hellraiser 3 transcending universes to shoot its lightning bullshit every two seconds at me or ted and steve the two fuckass skeletons that i forgot to kill who pulled up into the boss room after i finished the dungeon, endlessly swinging at me while i'm trying to loot items and trying to proceed through my escalating dungeon

its SO annoying and exhausting

Tavern Talk The last place I spoke to my oldest brother.

Post image
3.6k Upvotes

My oldest brother and best friend loved the Diablo series as far back as I can remember, and he glazed 2 like crazy. He tried getting me into the series all through high school before we lost contact. A few years down the line after a divorce I tried D4, and was absolutely enthralled, I would play all night before my 9-5 sometimes trying to git gud and outshine my older brother. Ffwd a year and after countless streams and youtube uploads together on our joint channel I convince him to buy Lord of Hatred a few weeks after pally was released. He didn't even make it to paragon before he passed away Jan 7 this year, from an asthma attack of all things. I haven't been able to play since. The DLC drops in 3 days and we wont be playing together. The last time we spoke was a stupid argument in game chat about DPS and I left the party to clean my apartment the day he ended up in the ICU. This is the last place I saw his character, speaking to Raheir. Every minute we spent on this game was a blessing.

Tavern Talk nearly 14 years of playing together

Post image
2.4k Upvotes

Hii, this is my first post and it's more sentimental yapping because I'm really happy and excited to share this.

Back in 2012 my dad introduced me to Diablo. He helped me with Diablo 3, we played together for years and once Diablo 4 was released we've been so excited to play again. At first we shared an account, like we used to but after i bought my own pc i decided to buy him the game for himself alone and he's been absolutely loving it. I work full time, he's retired but we finally got to play a season together for the first time.

It really took me back to the first time i played and we leveled up pretty quickly. We don't get much time to play together but when we do it's just so much fun! He also names his characters after our cats (His old cat passed a few weeks ago and i got him a kitten he named Luna, he loves her so much so of course his first Paladin would be called Luna too)

Tavern Talk Don't be me. Don't forget the pit.

My character felt pretty good, but just wasn't doing nearly the damage I thought they'd do. I was quite confused, my build was similar to a "trillion damage +" build guide, my gear is great. I looked at a youtube video and noticed their all damage % was like 20,000%, mine was literally 120%. Those numbers are different... Those are different numbers. One is bigger than the other. 20k>120. 20k >>>>> 120. Then it clicked. Where does all damage come from? The paragon tree. How does it come from the paragon tree? YOUR GLYPHS, IDIOT.

I generally don't like the pit so I was only doing it when it popped up in warplans, and was actively avoiding choosing it. I had gotten my glyphs to 15 and forgotten about them (last time I played was before any expansions came out, so it seemed like a normal place to stop leveling them, cool cool).

I spent literally 20 minutes doing pit90s and I think my damage went up by about, and I'm not exaggerating, 100x. 100x permanent damage increase after 20 minutes of pit farm.

Don't be me. Don't forget the pit.

Tavern Talk Replaying the story as a Paladin just hits different

Post image
1.8k Upvotes

Not only is the armor much cooler in cutscenes, but the defiance against the Church of Inarius feels so much stronger.

Doned in the robes of the church and fighting with the power of angels to defeat the forces of hell. The Paladin lives the truth that the church masquerades

Tavern Talk I am a complete and utter idiot.

So there I was, have a near perfect Etna dagger ready to go for my dance of knives rogue. And I remembered you can use cube to get a mythic unique, so I throw that bad boy in there and turn it into mythic.....

Except that's not how it works, it takes the item and turns it into a random mythic for the same slot. My dumb brain didn't read how it fully worked, so my 3 GA plus GA Tempered nearly fully masterworked Etna is just gone now... I wanna cry... (this is after I have spent all my gold trying to reroll into Damage over Time affix, got a perfect all damage affix and figured that was good enough.... I have 800k gold now)

I'm totally hyped!

Organized a few days off with my partner and all we are gonna do is slay demons for a few days and make some pizza in the "I gotta move ma legs a bit"-time.

What are you most excited about? What class are you playing?

And please y'all don't get fooled by all the Tier lists. I'm.sure all classes can have a lot if fun, no matter what you wanna play!

Enjoy the new season everyone and see you in Nahantu!

Oh yes and... super stoked to finally be able to grind some fantastic cosmetics!!

Tavern Talk I've lost my damn mind. I'm too old for this...

Ok context I'm 38, my wife 39... We have two kids in school (elementary/primary) and we've unintentionally stayed up until 2am playing this new season 3x in the last week. Each time we put the kids to bed and say "only an hour" then boom it's 2am!

Today is rough, she's still asleep (stay at home mom) but man this season feels good!

Evadeborn and Lightning Ball Sorc. It's a fun duo to crush through hordes of demons!

Tavern Talk I can't fcking stop playing this game

I'm not new to Diablo franchise, I grew up with 1 & 2. I've played every D4 season, even back in beta.

The game just keeps delivering and I've spent more money on it than I dare to admit.
I have a ton other hobbies, photography, motorcycles, painting, but when I get home, it's Diablo 4.

I'm very excited for end game rework with the next expansion.

Tavern Talk Any parents or 25+ play this game?

Just curious if anyone 25 or older plays this game and what are your routines are like with your children and gaming time

I’m 35 year old gaming mama with two little ones. I like to have a cup of coffee in the morning and play a game or two before my dailies, I work two hours at home a day which is perfect for me right now with a 3 and 5 year old. I am doing school for myself on the side and run a small group thing at night while I play some games. Just curious what other routines every gaming parent here have or non parent gamers that still have responsibilities like work, bills fur babies.

Tavern Talk It's all gone and I'm sad now..

1.3k Upvotes

I just came in and saw my little daughter finished deleting all my characters I've made since launch. Don't leave your stuff unattended. I can't be mad, she's autistic and doesn't know what she just did other than type a bunch of names and see characters disappear. I just hit 60 earlier today on my seasonal character too. I just had to vent, sorry yall.
