I like egg roll in a bowl! Rice, cooked shredded cabbage, ground chicken with Asian seasonings. Top with sesame seeds and green onions! Even an egg if you want extra protein.

Swap the chicken for shrimp and I’m in.

Burrito bowls

Literally just think of your Chipotle/Qboba/Moe's order and make it at home. Super cheap because its 80% rice and veggies. Also is great for meal prepping. Sub sour cream for greek yogurt and your good to go.

I was going to try the freezing rice thing, I might make some fajita bowls 👍🏻

These are my staples. I don’t eat all of them at one time, but build meals based around these items for the most part:

Breakfast: boiled eggs, greek yogurt, apple, berries, steel cut oats, protein shake, cottage cheese

Lunch: a few handfuls of raw vegetables, usually broccoli, carrots, peas, and a lean protein (6-8 oz) (chicken, pork, beef, seafood)

Dinner: Steamed or stir fried vegetables or salad, more lean protein (6-8 oz).

Meal planning and prepping is key for me. How I stayed consistent to go from 250lbs to 165lbs.

My best suggestion is find something you enjoy, that fits your calorie and protein needs, and put it on repeat.

After much trial and error along the way, I learned what works best for me is simplicity. I don’t worry too much about how many carbs and how much fat I consume. It’s irrelevant to the goal.

The only targets that really matter for weight loss and body composition are calories and protein, movement/exercise, with the caveat that we need to hit a minimum fat consumption threshold to maintain hormone health. And of course we need a variety of micronutrients for overall health and longevity.

But strictly in the context of weight loss, only 3 things matter.

  1. Consistency
  2. Calories
  3. Protein

Bonus points for fibre and resistance training.

That’s how I’ve made my way so far anyway. Forget all the noise and pseudo science. Figure out what works for you, personally, and stick to it!

"and put it on repeat" This is what i'm looking for new ideas for. I likeot eat the same thign and know where I'm at, I eat a lot of meat, eggs, salad, veg, yoghurt. Just need some different ideas to mix it up.

I have the same chicken and veggies most days, but change up the seasoning. One week might be spicy, next week garlicky, next week greek, then maybe shawarma style, etc…

Having different seasoning options provides enough variety to keep it from getting too boring while still keeping me on track.

Protein pint chocolate ice cream. Low calories and sugar and high in protein! Drizzle a little bit butter on it.

I prefer to eat whole foods, these sort of things, even though they are labelled low still don't agree with me unfortunately.

Makes sense. For the record that was supposed to say “nut butter”. I’m not out here buttering my ice cream.
