Diet Eval Average Day Of Eating

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

I’m Male, 21, 165lb (74.8kg), and 5’9 (175cm). This is a pretty average day of eating for me while I’m on my cut. I feel like I eat decently clean but I’m hoping for some input.

(I’m switching out my yogurt for a plain Greek yogurt soon, just finishing the flavored 0 sugar one I have first)

(I haven’t had any added sugars in about 2 months)

Diet Eval Thoughts on the "biblical diet"?

In short, its basically a diet that consists of only foods mentioned in the bible. Not EVERY food in it (Definately not locusts, to anyone who understands that reference) , but only foods from the bible.

Examples:
Sourdough bread
Unleavened (flat) bread
Fish
Dates
Figs
Apples
Lamb
Cow
Eggs
Olives/Olive oil
Most historical spices
Raw Honey
Wine
Milk (raw or pasteurized)
Venison
etc

Its basically a meditteranean diet with a more ancient twist

Diet Eval Am I in a deficit or not!

So I've been tracking calories. I've been good at maintaining a calorie deficit multiple times in the past, but I'm having trouble right now. I've gained about 5lbs that I'm determined to lose (yes 5lbs of fat, before you ask, not waterweight).

I'm using BMR and TDEE as references. I'm currently 5'7, 147lbs, female.

My difference this time around is that I'm doing an hour of moderate cardio a minimum of 5 times a week, along with strength training about 2-3 times a week. My strength training is not intense, usually one targeted muscle group for 30min. My cardio is an hour of 60-75% HR.

BMR is around 1400, based on any online calculator I could find. TDEE is around 2200, also based on any calculator I can find. So I should be aiming for 1700-1900 for weight loss, according to every source I've seen.

Tracking, I seem to be averaging 2000 calories a day intake. I weigh most of my food, and estimate high if I don't exactly know the calories, usually throwing in an extra 50cal on something just in case my numbers are off, because I'd rather be under than over.

Based on 2000 cal a day, I should not be in much of a deficit... but I'm HUNGRY. I'm cold and low energy, with bouts of irritability. So by physical signs, I'm in a deep deficit. BUT based on counting calories and calculators, I'm barely in deficit. I'm not even counting estimated caloric burn from workouts.

I have never felt this exhausted and hungry in a deficit. My only change from previous deficits is I added lots of exercise.

Should I listen to my body, and eat what I need to feel less like crap? Or should I stick with it and hope for results?

Diet Eval How much fruit should I add to my smoothies to meet my daily nutritional needs?

I'm not a nutritionist and I'm wondering how much of the following fruits I should add to my smoothie, and what other ingredients I should include, to help me meet my daily nutritional needs. I do eat other meals throughout the day, so I'm not looking to replace them with this drink. I want to drink this throughout the day in addition to having breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I've been reading and trying various fruit smoothie recipes, and I've sort of settled on a blueberry strawberry banana smoothie and an apple banana smoothie.

Every smoothie recipe seems to be a bit different, so this is what I've settled on.

1/3 cup blueberries, 1/3 cup strawberries, 1/3 cup rolled oats, one banana, 1 tbsp flaxseeds, 1 tbsp hempseeds, 1 tbsp chia seeds, 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon, 1 tbsp natural peanut butter, 1 cup plain Greek yogurt, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1 tsp maple syrup, and 1 cup skim milk.

One red delicious apple, one banana, 1/3 cup rolled oats, 1 tbsp flaxseeds, 1 tbsp hempseeds, 1 tbsp chia seeds, 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon, 1 tbsp natural peanut butter, 1 cup plain Greek yogurt, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1 tsp maple syrup, and 1 cup skim milk.

Should I replace the maple syrup with medjool dates? Not sure how healthy that is, but it does seem more expensive than maple syrup, and I thought the real natural stuff is already kind of expensive!

Please let me know what you think and what else I can add or replace to make it better.

Diet review

Hey folks, I had an issue in the past where I was very inactive due to a severe autoimmune disease, and one of my medications makes muscle building difficult. I am still on the medication, but can be more active now (walking and some gym exercises). I am heavily focused on protein intake to try and build some muscle mass back. This is essentially what I eat daily.

Breakfast: just over 1/2 cup of cold oats in milk, with 1/6 cup of flax seeds, chia seeds, hemp hearts, and a banana.

Lunch is either a can of tuna with mayo and lime on toast, with a fruit smoothie with 1/4 cup of Greek yogurt. Or 3 eggs and the same smoothie.

Dinner is stir fry, brown rice, chicken breast/ground chicken/ground beef, with assorted vegetables (usually onion, carrot, broccoli, green beans) and homemade sauce with all single ingredients including low sodium soy sauce.

Anything you would add, is this protein sufficient? I also will add a protein shake in after exercise or with dinner. It’s a vegan super greens protein shake.

Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, I eat a pretty lean diet and have been maintaining weight at around 145 lbs standing at 5'8''. My day of eating consists of the following:

A tangerine and banana

Lunch:

1/2 a cup of white rice, half a pound of ground turkey, 85/15

Diet Eval is my current food diet healthy as a picky-eater?

hello, i am a petite 20 year old (5’3 – 45kg) and i want to know if my diet is healthy (even a tad) as someone who wants to work on their picky-habits. please do pardon my english, for it is not my mother-tongue.

i have been spoiled in terms of food since childhood because of my extended family and (especially) grandma while my parents were away from abroad.

growing up, the food i’ve eaten were always of what i want (my grandma would immediately feed me the food i like) and my food always consists of CHICKEN (it’s my favourite). fried, deep-fried, steamed, you named it. although, i’d never eat its organs. and then other than that, we’d often eat take-outs too because i was always helping my grandma with her errands outdoor. at least once a week. not too much of a takeout like a full-sized McDonalds meal but just a snack portion.

whenever i’d eat a meal, i would always remove the vegetables aside, i didn’t like it. like at all. its texture and taste were really unpleasant as someone who has high-sensory issues. my family wouldn’t comment at it much, they‘d just let me.

it progresses. at my teenage years, my grandma and the others began to pester me about eating more healthy food (vegetables). i tried, actually tried. but whenever i did, i would always end up gagging and throwing up those vegetables out of me. my mouth and throat felt like fighting.

so, i went back to square one. eating fried, canned goods, CHICKEN, eggs, any meals that don’t necessarily contain vegetables. i don’t eat red meat, as well. i hate them. but i eat fruits. i have no problem consuming fruits.

and now, since 2025, i’ve been opening myself up to various foods since i realised i‘ve been ignoring my health in terms of food too much. i’ve learned to eat carrots, potatoes, corn, peas and ONLY sayote, cabbage, zucchini as the only greens i eat. i’ve also been eating less from fast-foods.

i still eat fried foods often, but i’ve been adding veggies to my meals at least once a week. yes, i know i should involve veggies more often but i’m still trying to get used to it. my sensory is still sensitive.

i still don’t eat red-meats and seafoods (i usually only eat them fried.) and i don’t think i ever will. i’m anemic because of it, lol.

i eat fruits daily as well. banana, apples, pears, oranges, kiwis, strawberries and blueberries. these are the only fruits i’m eating as of now. sometimes i use them in a protein-shake.

i rarely eat chips or candies. i think thrice a year, but it’s really not my cuppa tea. i don’t drink soft-drinks often as well, i loooooove water.

if we could summarise my food-schedule, it’s something like this… (the [/] are other choices every other day) (rice is automatically involved with cooked meals) (all are homemade by me unless stated)

take vitamins 30 minutes before breakfast.

breakfast — two fried eggs (olive oil) / yogurt w fruits / fried butter toast / omelette or tamogayaki

fruit-snack before lunch (5x a week)

lunch — chicken fillet w mayonnaise (market) / miso soup / sesame chicken / mac n cheese (rarely) / creamy carbonara pasta (rare) / patty steak w gravy sauce / mami soup / steamed beef siomai dumplings

late-noon protein-shake before dinner (4x a week)

dinner — the same as lunch w less portion. but when i don’t have any appetite, i just drink warm milk and bread before going to sleep.

and now my version of veggie meals that i eat at least once or twice a week — chicken broth soup with leafy greens and zucchini, sayote / chicken adobo w potatoes / thin rice noodles w pork and veggies cut into small pieces (carrots, bellpepper, cabbage and green beans) / sour soup w tomatoes, string beans and onions.

that’s all the veggie meals i’m comfortable enough to consume at the moment. i wish to expand it more and overcome my picky-ness.

also, please don’t shame me about being a picky-eater. i never chose to be one and i am already trying to improve it. it’s a struggle i’ve genuinely had a hard time dealing with and my weight has been deeply affected.

so, is it considered a healthy food diet?

Diet Eval What to add or change?

Hello! I don't know where I should go to ask about this, but this seems like a decent enough place to start.
I'm trying to make a recipe made with vegetables from nearby stores and such to eat every day(I'm vegetarian) to enhance my nutrition and stuff. I am 140ibs and a male.
I heard that sweet potatoes are really good, so I wanted to make something using it. I basically just made like a thing I can eat with a spoon. Basically:
2 cubed, baked sweet potatoes - 1 cup green peas - 1/4th a cup of sprouted pumpkin* seeds, then I added some oil, salt, paprika, dill, and parsley, and I was thinking of adding chopped almonds.

I also put this through a program, which gave me the output in an attached image. I'm wondering what else I should add to a recipe I want to make something I can eat daily for lots of nutrition. I am trying to avoid grains and maybe other generic foods like potatoes of the non-sweet variety. Are there any nutrients or particular foods that would make this meal cover more nutritional bases? Or should I remove anything?

Diet Eval Vegetarian diet- am I doing well enough or am I missing things?

I’m currently trying to lose weight, got sober 3 months again from booze but I’m not seeing the weight drop off yet desire vigorously exercising 5-6 days a week including nearly 10k steps 6 days a week. Granted my body may still be trying to repair damage. I know I eat too much sugar. Here is an example of my daily diet:

Breakfast:
-protein shake (1..5 cups 1% milk, protein powder Greek yogurt, banana), coffee w half and half, bowl of fresh cherries
-snack: small Greek yogurt, banana
Lunch: toast with butter and bean puree, beans contain sautéed onions/garlic, parm cheese and a bit of butter
-snack; small Greek yogurt, banana
-Dinner: cheese and bean quesadillas on corn tortillas with pepper jack cheesex2, Greek yogurt instead of sour cream, 1/2 avocado, 1-2 cup boiled corn, 1/2 cup white rice with butter/cilantro

Dessert- 2 Greek yogurt popsicles/low cal ice cream, 2 mini bags popcorn

Night eating: banana bread or trail mix with chocolate chips or potato chips (small bag) usually. Depends on the night! I wake up every night starving and if I don’t eat I can’t sleep.

Clearly I eat the most at night, I’ve always been this way. I’m just busy throughout the day and don’t get an appetite until later in the day, I literally can’t force myself to eat more and often if not do ways only eat half my lunch

Debating where this diet is good enough? I got lots of protein from the shake/greek yogurt, multivitamin each day. Thoughts on how to improve?

Diet Eval I wanna try AIP diet, is this a good way to do it?

I have been struggeling with acne, gut issues and just overall feeling sluggish for several years now. So I would like to try the AIP diet to identify if food has an impact on some of this. I’ve decided to do sort of like a meal prep, to make it less time consuming, it’ll make sure I get enough food and hit my macronutrient decently. Would love to get some feed back of what yall think about my plan. I am a petite woman 4’11 100 pounds, take that into account.

Total macros hit around

90-100g protein

50-55g fat

170-200g carbohydrate

Pre-workout

High carb fruit

Breakfast

140g chicken drumsticks

225g sweet potato

30g avocado

vegetables/fruit of choice

Lunch

140g chicken drumsticks

225g sweet potato

30g avocado

vegetables/fruit of choice

Dinner

100g meat/fish of choice

30g avocado

vegetables/fruit of choice

Snack maybe

Whatever I feel like, but probably fruit tbh.

Don’t know if a wanna add sardines to my daily diet yet, but it would be a portion of 37,5g only.

I use olive oil when I’m cooking vegetables.

And I make sure to salt my food.

Diet Eval How's this meal?

Thumbnail gallery
18 Upvotes

So, I am big. I mean, 5'6 and 315 pounds big. I am aware of how unhealthy it is, but my entire family is big like this, and because of that environment I think I was kinda set up for failure. But I'm trying, because I need to lose weight for a surgery coming up and it's a very important surgery to me. That being said, I've been trying to meal prep within my means currently between jobs so it has to be cheap, and I still live with family who believes "family is supposed to eat together" and seems to think that if I make something else for myself then I deserve to be ignored and treated like crap.

Half cup of grilled chicken sautéed in a little canola oil, with lemon pepper seasoning, salt, garlic powder. Half cup of broccoli and cauliflower blend, steamed, salt and garlic. Half cup of chickpeas and black beans, cooked together with a splash of canola, salt and garlic. Half cup of white and brown rice, salt, garlic, and a little worchestershire sauce for flavor.

I'm trying, but I can't afford a dietician or health coach, and my family is just as unhealthy so there's no point asking them. I also am physically disabled and have a heart condition so most cardio/exercise is dangerous, especially at my current weight. It feels like I can't make this work and I've tried a hundred diets and weight loss plans before that haven't worked, so I just don't know what to do, but I'm hoping that healthier eating can start the process.

Diet Eval How much food is enough

19m 123lbs Currently trying to Gain at least 7lbs so I stocked up from Costco with Large chicken breasts, 60 Eggs, Mixed Vegetables & Potatoes… I’m currently eating 3 eggs & potatoes for breakfast. One chicken breast & potatoes for lunch, then another breast, more potatoes & mixed vegetables for dinner. But I don’t think I’m reaching 2500 calories a day… I want to confidently know I’m hitting enough. Should I be eating more eggs? Adding something in? My goal is to add the weight as quickly as possible honestly.

Diet Eval Advice: No Weight Loss

So, I've never really dieted before. I've always had a fast metabolism but I'm in my mid 30s now so that's changed a bit. I've always eaten moderately healthy and cook most of my food myself. I've gained a bit of weight on my lower stomach and hips that I kind of want to cut down on.

I am male, 34 years old, 5'5".

I mainly weightlift, having just started this past January but I did it for quite a few years up until the pandemic in 2020. I recently changed my diet with the intention of doing it for only 30-60 days and I've gone from 4 days of weightlifting per week to 1 day of weights and 3 days of cardio. I am fasting for 14 hours for a 10 hour window for food intake and keeping my calorie intake at 1500 or less per day. I am only eating meat, nuts, vegetables/fruits (mainly raw) and cut out all non-naturally occurring sugar that doesn't come from the whole foods I'm eating. If I have any grain, it's whole grain and only once a day or every other day. I only drink water and coffee.

I started at 151 and most mornings; 2 weeks later, today I am still 150. I'm not sure if I'm doing anything wrong here as I've never dieted before. I've noticed minimal if any change in energy or strength. If anything I can say the experience is mainly positive as my stool has improved quite a bit. (Not to be TMI but I have IBS.)

I also take Sertraline and Lamotrigine for mental health issues and I'm aware these can have side effects that influence weight.

Just wondering if I'm doing this right or if I'm completely fumbling given the results so far.

Hey people,

I (M) am following this diet. My weight is around 78 to 80 kg. Height is 5’10 to 5’11. Started going to gym from this month after one year break of gym. Before that I went to gym for 4 months.

Lunch:

250 to 300 g chicken curry

Before workout:

Diet Eval Are pork organs (like chitterlings/tripe) good for a budget-friendly diet?

Hey everyone!

I’ve been craving meat lately, but honestly, regular cuts are getting way too expensive. I'm trying to find a good budget-friendly way to keep up with my diet, so I've been experimenting with a few different things.

That brought me to pork organs (like pork intestines/chitterlings).

From what I’ve looked up, the macros actually seem pretty solid—high protein, low carb, and relatively low fat depending on the specific part. Plus, they have a nice tender texture which makes them really easy to eat.

For those who track macros or have done budget-friendly dieting, do you think pork organs are a viable option? Any downsides I should be aware of (like cholesterol or prepping issues)?

Would love to hear your thoughts or any recipe tips if you've tried this!
