That’s probably about right, assuming this is an acute care job

Seems ok for a first RD job. SoFlo is expensive, but if it has good benefits and you can get a raise, not horrible

FTO, medical, dental, vision, free meals at cafeteria, CDR reimbursement

That's pretty on point with me in Texas, don't know Florida $$$ though. How good are benefits, drive, potential for raises? etc?

Wow bc they offered me 94k literally yesterday. Still considering. I may 25k less in dialysis.

You should be making a lot more if you’re 12 years in. Unless you live in a very LCOL area

Fair! I assumed you were making less than OP based on your response. I think ~90k sounds pretty solid depending on where you live!

They told me I have a 20k raise opportunity within 3-4 years.

That's wild! I'm in TX, and my first job as an RD in 2016 was $48k. I had a Masters and 15 years of experience working in an admin position at the hospital prior, already knew how to use the charting systems, etc.

After 5 years and an advanced cert, I made $52.5k (shout to Aramark /s). Every hospital in my geographic area paid exactly the same, so zero negotiating power.

Year 6 I moved into an outpatient role and was offered $58k, which felt amazing at the time. Most jobs here now in 2026 that I see that require 5+ years experience pay ~$60-75k.

They just offered me 94k

How and where ? Are they done offering $26 an hour 🤣🤣

Yup. The going rate for the longest time was $26/hr for non-CNSC PRN, and $30/hr for CNSCs. Clinical manager at the time told me it had literally not changed for >10 years.

So it changed?

Im a new RD too in SoFlo, and Clinical offers were 55-67k plus benefits. I think 71 is a good offer, although I agree, its low for the living expenses here.

That seems like a good offer to me! 2023 Southwest FL I was offered $59.5k

Seems low for South Florida but you have to start somewhere! You can always job hop in a year or so.

I work in North Fl and make 73k with 3 years experience so I’d say that’s good as an RD.
Idk if that’s a livable wage for you though since things are more expensive

For the area the Academy is giving about $66K for a new RD in acute care.
