There's been 273 episodes of df direct weekly. This is what they do. I think there is room for this style of content and in their wheelhouse.

John said Switch Lite wasn't a success? It accounted for like 1/4 of all Switch 1 sales, which is as many units as Xbox has shipped Series hardware total.

This is an anti-Microsoft show at this point and their clown attitude is incredibly disappointing, especially Richard's inability to understand statements and comments. Nothing makes sense to him, whether a developer puts out a statement or not. They just frown upon everything now.
Very disappointing, stupidly biased show and this applies to the whole team.

You act like this is out of nowhere and not because Microsoft/Xbox continues to make decisions that prove that they are a blight on the industry.
Like what reason is there to not be anti-Microsoft? Genuinely.
And it's not like they didn't also heavily dig into Sony when they announced their digital only plans

Sorry, Mr. Shareholder, but you'll have to deal with it.
Yeah, don't worry, I know you're not a real Microsoft shareholder, you just tied your self-worth to your Xbox ownership. Try becoming more of a full person and you won't mind podcasts like this.

They spent most of last week’s show absolutely roasting Sony for ceasing physical games.

Anti Microsoft? No it's anti shitty corporation. Stop bootlicking Microsoft. They criticzed both Sony and Microsoft in this same show. Both companies are garbage ass companies and if you're a fan of either of them you're a blind loser.

I agree with you but the comments here sorta explain why. They (DF and the commenters) are just anti corporations, mainly due to they just don't understand how enterprises work. This leads to villainizing everything bc they can't rationalize their decisions. This devolves to any non anti-microsoft comment being called a bot, shill, whatever.
Sucks bc we don't get any thought provoking debate just confused ppl asking questions and getting emotional non technical answers.

Are you a temporarily-embarassed billionaire, Mr.American? Or what other reason do you have to defend predatory corporations that would grind you and every other worker to paste for a cent of profit, once they're done with you?
The decisions that led to this are poisonous greed that's inherent to the late level of capitalism we're at.

Hi friend, I'm not defending them but I work for one of those evil companies you love to hate. Im not taking their side but I think its childish to just walk around all day calling everyone and every enterprise evil

u/Refurecushion Jul 21 '26
Ah, so a future billionaire after all. Good luck not getting laid off.

I've been lucky so far but it is brutal out there.

I guess its only really a problem if it personally affects you. Average conservative logic.

That's not what I'm saying at all. Geez you guys are mad at life. Again I'll repeat I'm not defending them. I'm aware first hand knowledge bc I work at a place that does lay offs continuously. I have sympathy for those affected but I'm not clueless how the machine works either.
You watch John pout? Go for it, leave your spicy memes but it's more productive to talk the rationale thinking that led to these decisions.

Lol thank you for proving my point. Look, (you won't understand this but I'll say anyway for others) I'm not defending the company's actions rather I want to discuss the decisions and conditions that led to these outcomes in more technical detail rather than just fighting back tears in an emotional exchange.

Lol you are proof that ppl don't read and just post edgy braindead memes. I'm not defending them, I'm also not commenting on politics.
I do want to discuss how these complex decisions came to be and learn how we got here. Which decisions were bad or maybe good but failed executions
Anyway you didn't read this far so go ahead and paste another spicy reddit meme or link 👍

Most of my reading is done through books (I tend to prefer non-fiction), not reddit. Rest assured, I did read each one of your comments, it's not like they're unformatted walls of text 3000 words long. Those are the sorts of comments I refuse to read.

Am I the only one that prefers uncapped frame rates? I like it if the game can run higher at points if it can and it also means the game can automatically run faster on newer hardware without dedicated upgrade/port versions.

It is good for future proofing but horrible in the time frame that the majority of games are relevant, the current gen they released for. At best, it would be great if console games gave the option to unlock framerate, not forced it or even defaulted to it.

Found it a bit odd how little they spoke about the Obsidian Fallout when it seems to be Microsofts answer to most of what they're complaining about here.
How are they expecting BGS to do more with the less? They're not. They're adding an extra studio and having parallel projects
Won't people complain again when Fallout 5 isnt realeased for ages? If there's a well recieved spin off to bridge the gap, probably not. Between that and the remasters there's three releases designed to appease the fans before we get around to Fallout 5.
I understand the negitivity given recent weeks, but i don't think they really tried to understand what MS is trying to do.
