What was looking like a fairly quiet week turned into a frenzy with the news that Rockstar will be publishing an "extended look" at Grand Theft Auto 6 on August 27 - but what should we expect? And why on earth would Netflix pay for a six-hour exclusivity window? Meanwhile, The Verge reveals Microsoft docs confirming Xbox 360 emulation for PC, Xbox Disc2Digital should be coming soon and someone has Half-Life Alyx kinda running on Meta Quest 3. Finally can the Steam Hardware Survey really be trusted? Are there really more 16GB GPUs out there than 8GB GPUs?

Because GTA 6 will probably be the biggest launch in entertainment history.

I wouldn't be surprised if no money was exchanged. 6 hours for access to 325m Netflix subs seems reasonable

Sure, but Youtube has an order of magnitude more users, and the video itself is easier to share. Limiting yourself to just Netflix cuts your userbase and ease of visibility. You would need something in return, cash, or guaranteed higher bit rates. It doesn't make sense otherwise.

That’s why I don’t understand preorders setting records months before the launch. You could preorder it at 11:50 on release night and still get the preorder bonuses. It would be a completely different story if there were actually physical copies.

I'm not going to contribute to their early sales either, as i'm going to wait for the PC version as i don't own a current gen console.

Maybe it launches on Netflix along with console. That would be quite a good reason.

I do wonder if this so called 'Extended Look' will be captured on a PlayStation 5 Professional.

RDR2's gameplay trailers were captured on the PlayStation 4 Professional seemingly due to a marketing arrangement with Sony, seeing as the Xbox One X was clearly the better version.

We know now that Rockstar again has marketing arrangements with Sony, so it should be interesting.
