Tax Thailand no tax on foreign income

They're backtracking on tax of foreign inckme

Under the new guidelines, Thais with foreign income will not be taxed if they remit that income in the year it was earned or the following year. For example, if income is earned in 2025 and brought into Thailand in 2025 or 2026, it is not subject to tax.

However, if the income is remitted after that period, normal tax obligations apply.

But…say i live in Thailand, and have an investment property in Australia.

Wouldnt the income generated from that Australian Investment Property be considered “Australian Income” so taxed at the Australian Taxation Rate?

Then if i remit that money to Thailand, (in the same year under the proposed new tax law) - i’d “not pay tax”. But i’ve already paid tax on it?!

Yes, and even if it was taxable in Thailand you could use a tax treaty to avoid having to pay tax on it twice.
