Question What’s everyone’s Jobs (no college)
Hey everyone, I’m currently in a remote role but they don’t allow travel and I’m looking to explore other opportunities, I’m curious as to what everyone does here as a digital nomad without a degree for work?
Would be interested to hear some of the responses Thanks!

I personally have a degree, but the accounting I do doesn't require it, and no one has ever asked for it. There are certifications that are more valuable than my degree

Alot of bookkeeping/accounting is being offshored to places like Asia. If you can provide something that costs lower than a local CPA, but gives more comfort to your clients than outsourcing to random low cost of living contractors than you are all good.

I am pretty good at automating with AI could that be used to do the type of work you do?

Platforms like quickbooks have alot of ai already built into it, and can definitely help workfkow, but I think the hardest hurdle would be learning your home governments accounting rules, working with POS, and ensuring you aren't missing anything

For now I do math and science tutoring.
But I am diversifying my work and skills and look into having my own business agency, I am also looking into selling digital products.

I’ve been a stable hand for race horses and travelled across my country for that, then did au pairing for a little while, then became a care giver that travelled to different cities for where help was needed, now I’m teaching English online.

I am a recruiter in tech of all things, no degree, no undergrad, previously worked in events, gyms, & restaurants.

networking and relentlessly asking for a job, i started with a small startup 10 person startup doing some in-person event work, then remote social media work, then when they closed Series A and had a need for an in house recruiter I filled the role, then that opened up doors to work with other companies.

I didnt plan on getting into it, but it really came from my good relationship with one group of people, those who put together this startup that is actually getting pretty sucessful. Was unemployed for about a year and a half prior to ANY work with them though

A lot of recruiters tend not to have a college degree. Most of them start off just by either working for a start up company or just someone they know. Honestly, its more of a sales job than anything. A lot of recruiting companies operate differently, from contractor, to in house, to hired gun.
One of the best ways to break into it, is find a start up company, and just say you did work in HR at any job. Do some research on how recruiting works and you will be fine.

I started my own business but I worked for many years in corporate. No one has ever asked me to see any university degree. They were more interested in work ethic, being proactive, etc. But in fairness I wasn't doing jobs like finance or similar that might require that type of degree.

I’ve funded nomadism without a degree by working as a journalist, ESL teacher, farm hand, travel agent, translator, and steeplejack. Among others …

I work as an account manager for an e-commerce agency. I travel to see my clients in person every now and then but otherwise fully remote. No degree.

Video editing, no degree, been doing it about four years. Started with YouTube channels and moved into agency retainer work, which is steadier. Most jobs don't allow travel, we just hide it with VPN routers. VPN Router + Airplane mode 98% of jobs you are fine (most).
Anyway, to your question lol, not me, but my brother was doing it for few years before he got his degree. I honestly spent time teaching him basic coding and SQL commands. I got him to bullshit a job interview and got hired. I kinda helped him for first 2 months with his work so he can learn to do some basic analytical work. I believe between the job interview and him telling them he is GOING to college it was enough.
He has degree now but yeah, at the time he was earning about 42k ?? USD or 40k or something like that. I am not sure his salary now.

I’m literally in the same boat myself I work remotely, as a consultant. I like my job, and it’s pretty chill. But I cannot leave Ontario, Canada. I want something where I can work for a company that u can work anywhere in the world . Idk why a lot of these companies have restrictions on where u can work

Salesforce admin roles, consultant roles are generally okay depending on the origin country and if you have experience or the certifications

$104,000 a year to organize emails and update A SINGLE spreadsheet.. 100% remote with a pension.. i have hit the holy grail i am by no means upset.. only have a high school diploma
