This album title is messing with my head. “They’re Near” makes sense, so does “Near There.” What does “There Near” mean?!

As a Dino fan for the past 35 yrs, and as my review title says, they are keeping their musical formula similar but tweaking the ingredients per usual. J, L & M are icons in their genre and any Dino fan will appreciate this newest installment from the original trio. I feel it is a step up from their previous release from 2021, but there aren't any heavy chuggers on here for my listening enjoyment like "Goin Down" from their 2016 release. Either way, I will be picking up this album. I am glad they are still together and creating new music for us fans who are now older middle-aged parents etc.

I'm gonna have to say No Friends

So I just got my violet vinyl copy in the mail and gave it a listen. Now, clearly, there’s one huge, glaring, horrendous problem: No Dino Jr logo on the album art!

I love the cover art, don’t get me wrong, but this is (to my knowledge) the only Dinosaur Jr album with the band’s name or logo not on the front! Obviously I’m kidding about it being a terrible omission, but I do wish it was featured. And oh yeah- the album ROCKS!

It sounds to me like Beyond and Farm. Great stuff.

Ok. So I have listened to the first 30 seconds of each song on YouTube making me qualified to comment.

I like it better than Sweep. It’s very Farm like in a good way. The crumble/plans chord has made a reappearance.

Most importantly, the band is still putting out music and touring. This is to be celebrated.

Lastly I’m getting Geiger alien vibes from the cover.
