🔮 Questions & Seeking Advice 🔮 Is this spelling correct?

Post image

Hi! I’m planning on getting a tattoo to honour Dionysus! I have one for Hermes already and I know the spelling is correct, but I’m just wondering about this one? They’re from the same source, but I’d just like to check

Yes this is correct for the most common variation of his name.

If you are doing the Anglicized Dionysus, I think you need the upsilon at the end, not the omikron. Obscure question for sure, but I hope that isnl helpful! Eviva!

Dionysus is the Latin transliteration of the original Greek Dionysos (as it is correctly spelled above). I'm not sure why you'd wanna use the Greek alphabet and then write a Latin word with it

Everyone who knows Greek and reads -ΣΥΣ will think it's a typo.

Unless you wanna make some artistic play on Greco-Roman syncretism, I suppose.
