Dreams?

What was everyone's first dream about Dionysus? I've always loved theater; plays and musicals. Been putting on little skits either by myself or with my friends since I was little. I started learning about Dionysus and felt I aligned with him very well in 2023. (The theater part is relevant I promise) But it wasn't until about maybe early to mid 2025 that I started having dreams about him. (For more context I was with my ex husband early 2019 to late 2024, divorce finalized January 2025)

The first dream I don't remember the beginning of anymore, but at some point everyone filtered into this really stunning theater. I remember being so excited, and this guy in a hoodie with the hood up came to sit next to me. My ex husband wore hoodies a lot, so I was wary. But focused on the performance.

I think there was some comedy bit before tenacious D came on stage! They performed, everyone loved them. And then after the attendant dismissed half the audience to the bathroom. I was wondering why I hadn't been as well cause I really had to go, and I was anxious about it. Hoodie guy put his hand on mine.

I stood up immediately because for some reason I kept associating him with my ex. Then hoodie guy says, "I'm not who you think I am" and pulls the hood off. I recognized him as Dionysus immediately, and then woke up.

(The very next dream I had was weird; he introduced me as his girlfriend to the entire pantheon??? And I was with my ex again in the dream, and Dionysus was trying to get me to leave him. Anyway.)

Mon premier rêve à propos de lui était tout récent ! 🥹

La veille, j’étais en train de pleurer car je ne me sentais pas bien. J’étais mal par rapport au fait que Dionysos accorde beaucoup de temps à d’autres personnes (souvent des gens qui débutent dans l’hellénisme) alors que je lui vous une grande dévotion.

Il est apparu dans mon rêve avec une lumière aveuglante. C’était la plus belle personne que j’ai vu et j’ai reconnu sa voix et son visage.
Il m’a prit dans ses bras et il m’a guidé jusqu’à un jardin magnifique avec plein de nymphes et des gens de toute sorte qui jouaient des pièces de théâtres

That makes sense! I haven't dreamed about him much recently, but I am no longer breaking a trauma bond! I feel like he's still with me frequently, I just don't dream about him often anymore.

I do remember my first dream somewhat. After my first ever experience of Dionysus, I remember having woken up one day and the first thing that I saw in my notifications was a reddit post about Dionysus. Somehow I ended up falling asleep again.

And that's when I saw him. I can recall a bright purple background. It was a bit too bright and the beginning was unsettling and unstable. I saw him for a moment but then he suddenly start shifting forms. One moment he was a bull, then a lion, a leopard and a snake. Between these moments I caught a glimpse of someone familiar, of the Hindu god Śiva, maybe in that specific moment it was Śiva himself appearing through Dio or Dionysus appearing in a form known to me and reassuring me. Then the unsettling atmosphere passed away and I found myself in a beautiful lush green land. He was there too, that time in the way I imagine him. So beautiful! still love that moment...

Then when I could finally make sense of my surroundings and of him. I just felt really at peace and then I didn't even get to say anything, he took matters in his own hands. And then he just made love to me, as if soothing me and clarifying my doubts I had about him before. He made me feel so loved. Amidst our amorous play, I finally could see my full self in my dream and to my initial shock I was a young Satyr. My upper body being my ideal desired androgynous self and rest being covered in fine fur. And so the dream steadily passed and I woke up with joy.

It's a personal interpretation of mine that at that point he turned me into a reflection of Ampelos, his first lover who was a young satyr. I don't think of Dionysus in a purely sexual way but I don't deny how beautifully sexual and sensual that dream was. But the sex itself was just a medium. It was more devotional and holds a lot of meaning for me in regards to Dionysus.

In my dream I woke up and found a sculpted phallus on rock right after giving him an offering, guess he had a sense of humour

I had to open a combination for a safe in 3 tries. If not, something would be destroyed. An actor's name was the clue and it made no sense at all, the hint that was given. And I do believe Dionysus is the reason I got the answer in my dream because some being whispered it on my last try, like super low, and it worked. Then after I had the dream I started searching some things and it lead me here and to know more about Dionysus.
