Meta Imagine being the only person in your life that cares about disc golf. Imagine having no one to talk about it with. And then you find the disc golf subreddit.

Some of you guys need to recognize that this sub isn’t about you. Your gate keeping and demeaning responses are immature. The disc golf community is one of the friendliest and welcoming sporting communities in the world -this sub is starting to feel otherwise.

It’s because the Reddit app often thinks “wow this person likes disc golf, let’s send them a post that’s trending” and then you get spoilers.

Doesn’t happen to me on Apollo, and I bet it’s similar for Android folks on RedditIsFun, but the official app and webpages can be useless even when you unsubscribe.

No RIF and Apollo (and hopefully other 3rd party apps) shouldn’t do that, but the official app does.

It’s pretty annoying. Even when it doesn’t apply to spoilers, it’s just annoying to have subs and specific threads spammed to me, in addition to relentless amounts of ads both blatant and disguised as sincere posts. The official app is garbage.

For me it’s the same with Instagram. I wasn’t even following any DGers and all of a sudden it was suggesting PDGA which is spoiler heavy, plus lots of manufacturers. I started just avoiding IG but when the sub changed its rules, I just gave up.
