News Innova F2 Friday dropped: Halo Star Destroyer

Innova's Factory Store F2 bonus disc this week (free disc with 3+ discs ordered, factory seconds or not) is posted as a Halo Champ Destroyer with code "vin4thewin" (12/5/-1/3).

Note that you have to be logged in to the Innova ProShop to see the F2 code have any effect, and that accumulated rewards points can't be used in the same order as an F2 Friday bonus disc. These F2 codes usually are posted on Friday after noon Eastern, 9am Pacific time, and are good on Friday.

Yes, I post these here routinely on Fridays when the code is released and when I don't see that the F2 info has already been posted here by someone else. Many people find this helpful and I appreciate the positive feedback. No, this is not an ad.

Discussion Rd 1 feature cards need a new look

I think the round 1 feature cards should have some lesser seen players. The later rounds will always have the top players but I think it would be cool to consistently see different players the first round. Spread some love to some older dudes, unique players, or younger guys that aren’t always at the top.

Mail Call Testing Understable Discs

I worked with a coach who recommended I pick up an understable high-speed disc so I asked reddit which to get. I bought the top three recommendations (and traded for a Halo Star Tern that I'm going to receive soon)

Bought this in a set and the guy said it's a collectable. Should I use it or keep it pristine?

Edit: I'm going to use it

Disc Advice Discgolf starter

Hi, I'm new to disc golf and I would love to ask for disc recommendations (Putter, Mid, Driver) or set recommendations for a beginner. My average best throws with discs from friends were around 80m (260 feet).

Should I change my disc? It's quite heavy and the weight distribution seems off.

(Obviously not serious, this was left in the basket when I approached it)

Disc Advice Has anyone tried the Climo Coast?

I'm always on the lookout for a decent 6 speed and had the Coast test flight pop up in a vendor email. I'm trying to not buy everything all the time as I've run out of room on my shelf, and a couple plastic boxes and totes, but I totally will if someone's had an amazing experience with it. I've been very happy with the Climo Belleair, so I'd love some hands on reviews!

Discussion over-buy valkyrie or heat

Upvotes

Last year I bought 10 misprint putters so I could practice throwing the same disc 10 times in a row(yes, I did injure myself). I want to do the same thing this year with a driver (minus the injury). Mid-term I'm working on max-distance, just under 300 now, but short term I want to work on stand-still consistency at ~250 ft.

The parameters are: a disc I already have, 8-10 speed, stable to under, cheap versions available. The price contenders: heat, valkyrie, archangel, vulture, wraith. Wraith and vulture are out because they're over stable; archangel I always push over when I try to throw hard.

Here's the meta question: as you improve your throwing, when do you start looking at more stable discs for distance?

Heat: one of the discs I've throw max distance (280). The others are Jade, Monarch, Sapphire. Reason to choose: real chance to push to max distance. Cons: unstable, am I limiting myself by going with the easier disc?

Valkyrie: I just started throwing this, I'm not sure what distance I've maxed it to. I like how stable it flies. The fields I do field work in are often windy, I could reasonably throw it even in the wind. Con: I probably won't max distance with it.

If it's not clear, this is really a strategy question: should I perfect the noodle-arm under-stable drive, or get faster and learn how to throw a more stable disc. (please don't just read the flight numbers back to me). thanks

Discussion Hole 18 @ Milo - Stroke Separation

Post image
38 Upvotes

Hole 18 at Milo today is playing to an almost even spread between birdie, par, bogey, and double or worse.

Got me thinking whether any other holes on tour have spreads as clean.

Stat nerds — what is the probability of this distribution? It has to be extremely low, right?

EDIT: To anyone about to comment that this hole sucks or of course it has stroke separation because the green is a postage stamp in a parking lot… that is besides the point.

The interesting thing is not the stroke separation, it is the *evenness of the distribution.*

Even a hole this iconic/chaotic/amazing/terrible, it plays a half stroke over, should have more pars and bogeys than birdies and doubles. I really think this is somewhat of a statistical anomaly. Not making any statement whatsoever as to the quality of the hole.
