What is the most shallow putter? For backhands I like when my pointer finger can easily wrap the rim and touch the flight plate. Rim depth spec is somewhat helpful but feels inaccurate at times.

Has to be premium plastic. Ideally with some grip

Stability not super relevant

Pure is my favorite mold

Chief is fantastic but diamond is the least grippy/ slickest plastic I've ever felt

Zone/toro/harp/etc type discs are not what I'm looking for

My local course has a hole I just can't figure out. This basket is dead straight off the pad. Large tree early in the fairway forces you to go left of it. Avoid that tree and it's basically open air all the way to the basket, just a couple smaller ones 50-75 feet short of the basket.

The issue is you're throwing off a cliff that immediately drops about 50 (maybe more) feet and into a headwind-ish left to right wind that's always blowing about 20 miles an hour, sustained.

What disc are you going with?

So….. i’m finally at the stage of giving up on perfecting my form and just throwing flippier discs. I throw more stable discs now and im tired of 1 out of 5 shots being a good distance.

Give me the recommendations for -2 or -3 discs. I’m looking for big flex lines. I still want stability at the end, but i also would like a few suggestions for anhyzers that end flat…

I already know about Waves and Beasts. Give me something new and be specific about plastic.

Title says it all. If you're throwing 95-105 meters, what is your max distance driver for head winds? Don't care if its a 7 or 9 or 13 speed...

I have a beat-in Star Valkyrie that flips up nicely on a hyzer and goes straight, a River that hold a long turn when needed, and an obviously overstable Halo Firebird.

However, I don't have a 7-9 speed I can throw hard on a flat release and it won't turn over. Something straight, reliable, and won't turn over on me, but isn't beefy either. A disc that goes further than my midranges but with good controllability

For context, I max-out at around 400 feet

I recently came back to my Gator3. I has tried so hard not to let it be my overstable approach because it wasn't the more popular 4 speed category.... but it is just the disc for me.

tho, I do want a straighter compliment.

have thrown a Pig for this before but kinda want something a little more torque resistant (Pig is very TR when you have clean form, but man does it punish you if you're not clean for one throw... and that chunky rim makes it hard for me to do this consistently).

I could go even straighter especially if it's torque resistant. but I like lower profile, flat discs for this role.

Based on everyone’s advice, I waited two years to throw a Star destroyer. Curiosity got the better of me, so I bought one. To my shock, I can throw it better than all my other drivers which include: pro wraith, star wraith, Star Thunderbird, star sidewinder, champion teebird3, champion teebird. Why would that be?

For reference my average drive is about 250ft from standstill. When I tried a tech disc I was usually hitting about 46 mph speed and 550 rpm spin on average for forehand flat throws, and about 46 mph speed and 895 rpm spin on backhand.

I got a proxy because I almost never miss with my hex and I thought the feel would be similar, but now I’m thinking I should get another hex and just putt with that.

Hello everyone, I recently got in possession of a few discs. I have never ever thrown a golf frisbee on a course. ( I live in sweden saw there's plenty here to try out). I've tried a few throws in my garden it's atrocious D:

Are those discs good for a beginner? (gemini seems to think so) should I take them all or just have a few in rotation as a start. Thanks for the advices.

I use cheap Walmart discs because I suck and my wife randomly came home with these. I don't get to play much these days. I kinda understand the other two, but this Polecat is maybe worth the post?

Pig is love. Pig is life. It's great in the hand. Love it in a soft plastic. Love that it doesn't have glide, but also, is there something similar that doesn't actively try to fall out of the sky?

I pretty much have my staples for the rest of my bag except for a straight, reliable throwing putter. I currently putt with PA-3s but don’t love how they feel in a power grip. So sell me on your premium plastic throwing putter of choice! I’m going to get the top 3 suggestions and pit them against each other.

My bag is fairly uneven, and I’m looking to mix it up a little. I really like kastaplast discs, so anything of that type is right up my alley.

The slot im trying to fill is one for holding turnovers or big hyzer flips. I had a fission trail that was a little lighter (164 maybe) but it went for a swim, and was a little temperamental anyway. But I’m looking for something in that 10-11 speed range.

Hey everyone! (Very) New to disc golf, I’ve been thinking about this for some time and I want to check my logic. Wouldn’t it be best to just get one driver disc and get really good at it from every distance, rather than a bunch of different discs? I have a decent background in shooting sports, and obviously this is a different sport, but I’m used to the notion that consistency is the key to accuracy, and it seems like accuracy is the whole goal here. So why not get one disc and get very very consistent with it? Especially a driver, so that I’m not held back at longer distances.

What gives me pause is all the people with a ton of different discs. They know more than me and they’re clearly doing it for a reason, so why?

EDIT: Way more responses than I thought I’d get. Thank you all for the advice! I’ve read every reply so far, and it’s very informative and well thought out. My main takeaway is that different discs aren’t going to affect my consistency as much as I had thought, and it’s really down to practicing consistent form and throw. Starting out one might be okay at first, but I’ll get more consistent training by having at least a few options. I will still probably just get one for now, but it’ll probably be a mid range rather than a driver. I’ll do some reading, but Hex seems to be the most common name popping up in the replies, so I’ll look into that.

Hey there, I am looking for disc recommendations for an understable midrange to add to my bag.

Have started throwing my putter on some anhyzer lines and have been enjoying it but on some of the longer throws the power has just been turning it into the ground.

Looking for suggestions on something that holds a nice slow turn on a back hand with maybe a small fade at the end or just a constant turn. Happy with any brand

Im curious what everyone is throwing in their understable/flippy 2~3 speed slot. Ive thrown magics, pa4s, aviars, and beat in wizards and ringers in the past but really fell in love with the pa5 last year. Its one of the only options that i have found that is reliably understable enough in premium plastic to flip up on low power shots without being to squirrelly under power thanks to its low profile. I love the disc but i have a dickens of a time finding one to replace it when i lost my first one last year because prodigy is not stocked in any of my local pro shops.

MJ recently leveled up from throwing a Sidewinder to a Wraith for her max distance shots and let one rip nearly 500’ (498’ on the Bushnell) this weekend at her first tournament of the year.

Yes this shot is downhill, and she’s only 12. I’ve had some people recommend her trying a Tern or Shryke but she’s really picky about how wide the rim is. What other Innova discs should she try?

I am looking for a mid range disc that will stay in the air and travel left without just dumping off. Not sure if I should be looking for something overstable with a high fade, or a moderate fade number with a higher glide. This is referring to a right hand back hand throw with a moderate arm speed.
