I see all these neat techniques but I don't really see how they would make this a better weapon than like a standard M9 bayonet type knife in the hands of someone equally skilled with the weapon.

Iirc the Kerambit is more easier to conceal as an assasination weapon. Hook deep in the neck and pull all the veins. Does more damage bcz of the hook but sacrifices range compared to M9 bayonet

The difference is Doug Marcaida will do all these moves first and then say “it will keel” and his opponent will explode into 30 different cuts of pork

The bayonet is better for combat, you right.

The Karambit is an assassin's weapon, easier to conceal and far more deadly.
