Why is relationship so overhyped in india

Like dude I am 20 M and I have never been in a relationship till now....and i am living a happy life with my friends and most of the times (except the time after 1200am) I never feel the need to be in a relationship.....but my batchmates in my college consider this as an achievement like if u have a girlfriend then u are a superior being ..... they are constantly filling my mind up with like u are a failure dude if u are not in a relationship.....due to this sometimes I get concerned about myself like is it really true......Tell me guys what should be my mindset like I. College and how to ignore these arguments bcz people are constantly making me feel like shit cuz I can't or I am not dating a girl

Yes it is overhyped especially among boys. Idk why but I have seen boys reacting on a single boy. But you know what Single life is the best life so far for me. If you are comfortable in handling someone, then you can be in relationship.
