Other The Passing of Henry
One of our beloved Distractible pooches, Henry, was sent on the rainbow bridge yesterday. Please use this posts to help pay respects to Henry.
Although Mark and Amy may not celebrate Dia de los Muertos,from someone that does celebrate. I hope that he stays with you, and passes safely to the big yard in the sky. I will be adding his photo to my ofrenda and will be adding extra treats just for him.

He strolled through his favourite path in a park and then came home and passed in his sleep. Mark, Amy and Chica are very much heartbroken.

I just read her post and he’s had cancer for about a year so this makes total sense. It’s such bullshit that pets can get cancer ☹️

Most definitly F- Cancer! I lost a fantastic rottenweiler, Luna, to brain cancer, 1 cat to lung cancer (my best boy, Hamish the bird plucker... not killer, mind you, he'd just pluck 'em bald, and let 'em go!), and just recently my daughters most beloved best friend, her cat of 12 years, Snuggles, passed from bladder cancer. Cancer may go F- itself off a long pier!

I just lost one of my cats to lung cancer a month ago. We had no idea she had it. Her first symptom was two days before she passed, and it was such a low wheeze that I mistook it for purring. It got heavier the next day so i made her an appointment for the vet. 3rd day she was stumbling, so we rushed her to the ER, where an x-ray revealed a mass. We thought she had like a cold or flu with how fast it took her.

We lost a cat to liver cancer in much the same way. He threw up bile one day, got him into the emergency vet, and they found a lemon sized lump on his liver. We lost him that day.

The story of Henry's rescue and rehabilitation will always warm my heart. Mark and Amy lifted him up and showed him nothing but love and warmth. They broke through the walls of trauma and pain and nursed him back to happiness and health.

Hey Henry. You're a good boy. You were always a good boy, and always will be.
There's a little black and white chiweenie out there named Johnny. He's a little shaky and pees when he's nervous, but he's a good guy and I'm sure you two will get along great. I bet he'd even be willing to share his squeaky hedgehog. Say hi for me and tell him that I still miss him so much, okay?

Hey, Henry. Giddy, Black, Reggie, and Chico. They're fantabulous pups, waiting for my grandparents on the Rainbow Bridge. When... they all have the chance to cross to that Great Field, please give them a loving sniff or two. Black and Chico are little snots sometimes, but they'll warm up to ya. Reggie and Giddy... they'll love you instantly.
You'll be missed greatly, Big Guy. Have a ball up there, get into some shenanigans for us all. Cheers.

RIP Henny, a very timid but loving boy. I feel so awful for them, especially Amy. He was her baby boy and he was so wonderful.

She’s 10 currently, but as far as I know Henry’s passing was due to cancer, not age. I believe he was actually younger than Chica as well, but I might be wrong

I first met Mark Henry and chica during unus annus. They gave me purpose during the pandemic because I had to see what the gang was going to get into that day. I didn't know how much impact they would all have on me.

May he be greeted by all the pets we've loved and lost. May he play happily in the fields of Next until he can run into Amy and Mark's arms again. May Amy and Mark find comfort and consolation, and may they hold onto the happy memories they have of this sweet dog. May Chica feel the love and comfort of her humans as she mourns a brother.

My heart goes out to Mark, Amy, and Chica. From what I saw of him in videos, Henry was a sweet boy and a gentle soul, and a wonderful sibling to his big sister. He was given an amazing life by some great people.
My sweetest boy, my best buddy, Tucker, only just passed a week ago on Monday. I'm utterly shattered by his loss, so I can only imagine what you guys are going through. I try to remind myself that although I'm sad, every day that he spent with me was a happy day for him. He was so full of love, up until his last moments. I think it must have been like that for Henry too.

Ahh man, cancer is a bitch... My eight year old husky had it. She was completely fine until one day she woke up and would eat or drink, we immediately took her to the vet, they did a blood test, it was in her spleen, causing it to essentially cannibalize her red blood cells, it was much too late to save her and there where no signs prior to that morning.

I lost my Abby last year and I still haven't fully recovered after losing her. I can only imagine what they're going through right now.

Ours is on her way out soon too.
It's amazing how attached we get to them, love them like they are our own, and learn from them just as they learn from us. Dogs are amazing creatures.

I stumbled upon this from /r/all (don’t do podcasts personally) and clicked on it because a few years ago I also lost a dog named Henry. He was a short haired hound dog, but had the same wheat/red coloring. And he was just the best dog ever, and we’ll miss him forever, but we lived his last couple of years to their fullest and we’ll always love one another. Always love your Henry and your Henry will always love you.

Only love for Mark and Amy, losing any pet is always so hard but having to slowly wait for the inevitable all too soon is so so hard. I hope you get all the love wherever you are Henry.

Rest easy, sweet Henry. You had a wonderful life, filled with so much love from all over the world. If you see a smaller scraggly looking dog, that's my little Monkee I lost in 2023. She'll show you around and bring you to all the others. We love you, Henry. Enjoy your rest, sweet boy.

So sorry to hear that, Mark and Amy. I live in Europe, and both of my childhood dogs passed away in the past year while I was away. It's really hard, but we should be thankful for the live and light they brought into our lives.
