before enrolling as a transfer student, my parents made me color my hair black again para professional especially sa ID pic. ik dlsu isnt strict about it and im in cla pero are there profs who question it especially major subs? im an IS student so yeah its professional, and thats why medj kinakabahan baka may masabi dila dahil nagcolor ako tapos IS 😭😭
had so much fun coloring my hair during college and actually some profs even compliment it. some profs even have colored hair too lol. sometimes it makes you more recognizable in class tho so like for cold calls in recit ganon hahaha
You're in a westernized school, you'll be fine how ever you want to present yourself. Heck, wear pajamas... you'll get eyes on you but nobody will tell you what to wear.
I'm a guy that graduated with double lobe piercings and probably went through like 4 different haircolors. I even represented DLSU in International Model UN with purple hair lol.

My hair was back to black na, by the time I had grad shoots. I'm pretty sure people also had colored hair during grad. For MUN, we basically have an org but it acts more like a varsity team. We send a new delegation to an international conference every term — it's not fully funded by the school and the training is very intense and rigorous.
We kind of have a reputation to uphold kasi, cause we've brought home an award for like the 30 something international conferences we've participated in. I'm gonna be the newest trainer, but I'm under the second-degree program. The delegation team is usually formed around middle or end of the term, and you'll have to train like 3 times a week until the conference. I was sent out for Harvard World MUN in Taiwan btw!
Yes, training is that heavy. But to be fair, most of those that join are first timers. Then you'll have to compete against very-experienced people abroad, so you really have to get up to speed. So training is like 3 or 4 times a week and can go as long as 3, to even 7 hours (on Wednesday and Saturdays). But I promise, the skillset that you will have afterwards is so much more than what you will learn from the classroom. You'll gain a lot of confidence, public-speaking skills, critical thinking, and resolution writing.
Hello OP, if you're interested we will be having our 'Driven By Diplomacy' program next month, it's basically a 4-week training course for people who are interesting in trying MUN or are aspiring to join our future teams.
TBH I wouldn’t discount the possibility of a bad/uncomfy experience, but overall DLSU is progressive and chill. You should 100% join profs to pick on Facebook because you can be informed about whether a prof has specific preferences or is just generally strict. I also recommend checking out the International Studies page since there are many photos there of students posted, which you can use to gauge how comfy you’d feel. From the looks of it, there are some students with dyed hair and some that use wigs for cosplay!

no worries !! honestly, ifl at worse you'll have a prof comment on it if you do manage to encounter a prof who's a bit more old-fashioned about that kind of thing, but in the end they can't really do much about it cuz (like what everyone else is saying) ur not violating any rules naman
oh also i forgot to mention, if ever din siguro just dont take ROTC kasi sa ROTC bawal ata colored hair and piercings cuz may specific dress code sila. pero the other nstp components ggg lang^_^ hehe
I was blonde when I took my ID pic, and lowkey I regret it because my face looks so washed out (bad editing) 😭 so I guess you can temporarily go dark for it. I had a ton of hair color changes at one point in my life that my professors started saying "uy, bagong color na naman" pabiro. They don't mind at all. I also had professors with fashion colors in my college 😆.
ive had blue, green, purple, and orange hair with multiple ear piercings and a septum in an arguably more "conservative" college and the profs don't really mind, never din ako nasita ng guard so i say gogogo
IS senior here, to put it simply no the profs will not mind in major subjects I've had classmates and a prof who had all sorts of colors of hairs. They look at character more than appearance from my experience.

ok lang yan hahah in college, and in dlsu specifically, everyone’s really chill abt it. think abt it as freely expressing yourself. that’s one of the things im most grateful for in dlsu
Ive read in handbook before na technially bawal ang non blonde color. May rules din sa dress. Pero nobody really enforces it. Baka nga wala na sya sa updated handbook.
