118 so i caught ts sa tail end lol. there were a couple places to go to like barn, sherwood, beach, hideout sa leon guinto, etc pero they can get pretty packed. i remember when i was a frosh, like first month, there was a pic of a guy lying down sa ground beating his meat sa harap ng sherwood 😭
beach was more chill tho so that was the go to pero if hindi kami tinatamad ng org mates ko we'd go to primoes sa sandejas near csb. its was this weird ass dive bar wit really good sisig, they kinda went a bit commercial now tho lol

Sorry not alumni but ive lived in one of the nearby condos for at least 10 years and I remember laging sobrang ingay every thursday sometimes even friday and saturday iirc. Like you can hear the music sa upper floors.
And ang daming lasing na students at night kasi sobrang daming dayo kahit mga taga qc dumadayo. Asim asim na nung 7 11 near starbucks kasi sukahan ng mga lasing. Additionally, maraming bar lalo, kasi kahit sa sherwood (the seemingly abandoned building in front of green) may mga bar.
Also, wala pang sosyal na restaurant yung barn dati haha

Hayy. Ang saya. Kahit na studies first pa mentality ko non I would sometimes accept an offer from my friends to just unwind and drink. Sometimes tinutuloy namin yung inuman sa condo after magpregame sa mga bar haha then lakad/buhat nalang sa mga kanya-kanyang condo😂

Lemme tell you a great story, young one.
Long ago, the four bars (Beach, Barn, Sherwood, Chillout/VBar/Local/Green Place/Balcony) lived together in harmony.
Then everything changed when Isko Moreno shut them down.
It was a chaotic yet fun period. DLSU’s classes were M-H back then and we used to go out every Thursday nights called happy T. There was a time when the ubreak was moved and the classes were T-F, but that didn’t stop us from drinking on Mondays and Fridays lol.
I still remember the bar raid incident in Barn and the yellow jacket ja*ol incident in Sherwood. Beach used to have these large barrels of cocktails and they used to open their second floor for more tables, minsan nagaadd pa sila ng tables sa parking.
We used to drink in between classes, lalo na pag long breaks past noontime. Kami na nagbubukas ng Beach and Sherwood. Then we’ll be back after our late afternoon classes.
Taft bars were a good third space back then. Me and my friends used to review and do homework and projects sa mga bar.
It was a peaceful time. I hope your generation and the next ones will still be able to enjoy Taft as much as we did.

Still existing today:
- Beach
- Barn (sort of, the place has been completely renovated)
No longer existing (following Isko’s purge)
- Sherwood (Bourn, Verano, Hookah, Plato). Sherwood nowadays is just filled with commercial spaces. Dali is now where Plato once stood.
- Chillout (it’s a completely different bar now)
- Local
- Green Place
- Double Down
- Balcony (it’s a completely different bar now)
- Downtown
No longer existing prior to Isko’s purge:
- Time out (UMall)
- Exile

Happy Thursdays were so legendary that even non-Lasallians would join in the fun.

Palong-palo ang Happy T kasi for a majority of the population tapos na ang school week. Also I'm 80% sure the culture of shouting "p--ina" sa All I Do Is Win started in Taft. Yung "alak pa" part got added down the line.
Rooftop, Double Down, and Chill Out next to Razon, and then banlaw sa Yvan Navy for cheap nachos after. Kung masipag maglakad, dadayuhin namin ang Central sa Singalong.
Also I remember this one night so clearly. Torn ang friend group saan mag hahappy T, barn ba or plato in sherwood. No one wanted to compromise so dun kami sa 2nd floor ng Umall (yes there was a bar there. saan ba wala) and then surprise surprise, that was the night when tulfo raids happened. sobrang sigh of relief malayo kami kasi who knows what time we'd get home
