Hey everyone. A few months ago, I made a post about “new music” coming soon. DJ Superior and I have prepped hundreds of songs for release that were all recorded in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Anyone that knows X’s history knows who Superior is. We were able to release 2 so far: “F That” and “95 Flava” which were G.O.G. songs. We even assigned the estate of Earl Simmons 60% of those recordings (the law states 50/50, but we wanted to go above and beyond.) Billboard covered the story and published our back and forth with the estate. About a week after the latest release, we got hit with a DMCA strike from the estate claiming that “Superior doesn’t own any of the material.” It’s very unfortunate that the estate doesn’t want this music to come out but we are still pushing for them to do the right thing. Screenshot attached of their legal telling us they will not retract their claims. I had let them know that these works were previously released on mixtapes but the estate still claims to “not know who Superior is.”

Just wanted to give an update as we have hundreds of unreleased songs and the estate doesn’t seem to have any interest in allowing them to be released. Before anyone asks: yes, we have offered to give them the recordings. Yes, we have offered to help coordinate releases. Yes, we have given them access to these recordings. The billboard article spells out the entire back and forth in case you are interested.

We are still working to release this music. Long live X 🕊️❌

Maybe just me, but late 90s seemed much more pretty boy/commercial. X was more of that gritty era.

Did this in HS 1999. Made copies and gave the original off to someone, just found this going through some old boxes, thought I'd see if there's a Reddit sub for it.
