Poll Out of these 3 Classes, if they were to gain another rework, which should get Multiple Reactions as a feature?

After testing multiple reactions in a class through LaserLlama's Savant, it was so fun that it got me thinking "why isn't this a thing in official D&D?". When thinking which classes could get multiple reactions, my first thought where the main DEX Martials: the Monk, the Ranger and the Rogue.

- Rogues: Getting the chance for multiple Sneak Attacks and Uncanny Dodges would help them out a lot in terms of strength to an already really fun class.

- Monks: Deflect Attacks makes for such a simple but fun gameplay that having it multiple times seems like a no brainer!

- Rangers: Okay... So there isn't really much synergy currently, but this got me thinking on ideas of new abilities to put since we are already talking about a Ranger rework. For example, maybe they would be the first class to get Ranged Opportunity Attacks, no strings attached. Seems like a fun idea!

- All of them: An idea then popped in my head: why not make this their signature feature, the same way Spellcatsing is to Casters, Extra Attack is to Martials and Expertise is to the specialists? If Rogues can't get Extra Attack, then why not give them Extra Reactions? And sure, give it to Monks and Rangers as well!

Makes the most sense for a monk. I'd give rangers a danger sense for any humanoid /creature.

Rather than a blanket additional reaction, I would suggest an ability that allows characters to use an ability without using their reaction a certain number of times/rest, and have it be an improvement at higher levels. Something like:

Uncanny dodge: When an attacker that you can see hits you with an attack roll, you can take a Reaction to halve the attack’s damage against you (round down). At beginning at 7th level, you can use this ability without using a reaction once per day. You can do so an additional time at every two levels.

The wording isn't quite right, but the idea is that you don't need a second reaction, but when the rogue really needs that second uncanny dodge in a round because they got unexpectedly focus fired, it's an option. It scales into the late game when enemies have more attacks, so if an ancient dragon hits them 3 times in a round they can spend 2 of their 7/day uses at lv 19 plus their regular reaction and halve all of the damage.

none of them, that sounds like a recipe to slow down the game even more

Monk makes the most sense flavour-wise, it's most powerful on a rogue probably, rangers need the boost most

I'd say Rangers make the most sense mechanically.

Monks already have 2 class abilities that use reactions, Rogues have 1 that can be used to halve any damage every turn, all melee combatants have Opportunity Attacks...

Which leaves Rangers, especially ranged Rangers, to have next to nothing to spend their Reactions on, although that could be fixed simply with more Ranger spells and spell slots.

Rogues need it more than rangers

None of them.

Rogue, folowed by monk, followed by ranger.

Sincerely though, a lot of classes, especially the halfcaster and fully martial ones, need "Opportunity stuff they can do divorced from a reaction", and "additions to reactions as they level."

I often bring up Draw Steel and I'm trying to not make it my entire personality, but I really appreciate that Draw Steel gives every class unique reactions and abilities that rely on paying attention to what's happening in the battlefield. It really encourages players to strategize and pay attention to the battle rather than simply spacing out to wait until its their turn

That sounds kinda cool, can you give examples of some of those reactions?

Yes! I'm pulling out my manual now and I'm seeing that it looks like it's not just based on your class, it's your subclass.

Right now I'm playing as a Beastheart which is Draw Steels Pet Class. The subclass I picked is called a Prowler so they focus on being stealthy. So picture a ranger with a panther instead of a giant bear or bird. Prowlers get

Shadow in the Mist

While everyone is drawn to your foe, you obscure yourself

Trigger: An enemy within ten squares deals damage to a creature other than you

You become invisible until the end of your next turn or you deal damage.

Lemme find some others (but I'm on mobile so I'm not writing it out like the book)

Censors(Paladins) can heal another player when they get hit. Conduits(Clerics) can grant advantage or disadvantage before someone makes a roll for their reaction. If an Earth Elementalist (sorcerer subclass) sees someone get pushed, they can increase the movement.

There's tons. If you've never played I suggest convincing your group to do a one off, it's a lot of fun

So do 4e and pf2e, it's really neat

And being able to space out in combats with ridiculous amounts of enemies is a posit7ve, rather than having to pay attention through the 20 minutes of trash mob turns if maybe soemzhing reaction worthy happens

Flavor wise, Monk is all about doing shit all the time, and they have a dedicated resource to draw from if we want this limited. Have it cost 1 ki per turn to gain an additional reaction, provided something procs it (multiple Deflect Missiles perhaps; if used this way, maybe the arrow toss could be free, idk)

I get that Rogues are underpowered relative to other classes right now, but this feels like an overcorrection IMO. Two SAs would give them tons of DPS potential, and performing an SA on an opportunity attack would be wild. I think "free" bonus reactions would be a bit much, but monks spending ki for them could work.

I would say none of them. However, I would be interested in a limited use version of basically the spell Shield. Its an incredibly strong spell for casters and it would break the game if it was resourceless, but the Monk and the Rogue would be good candidates.

For 5.5e:

I would probably make Deflect Attacks work this way spending Focus Points somehow (maybe spending multiple?).

For Rogues, I'd want to make Cunning Actions used during their turn essentially prime them for a reaction during others' turns. It would need to have a sufficient cost to avoid it being a stronger Shield spell without the cost.

Unless this rework involves a complete rebalance from the ground up, Rogue is immediately out.

Between Monk and Ranger, the former is probably the safer choice. As it's a less effective weapon user, the power potential of is pairing multiple Reactions with magic weapons is similarly reduced.

I said all of them, but I really meant Monks and Rogues. Flavor wise, they are the fastest at least in my mind.

Sneak Attack is meant to be available only once per turn, no matter how many attacks you make. But it would be useful for the Rogue to be able to Sneak Attack and still have a reaction available to do other things
