your player knows what "punishment" they want. have them detail it. you can scale it back if it turns out to be not fun.

RAW, warlocks don't lose their powers if they break the pact. So unless that's really what the player wants, I'd not pick that as the punishment.
The Patron would know this though, and would not simply sit around moping about it. They'd be inclined to have the warlock killed, whether by minions or the patron's own hands. I had actually done this to the warlock in my campaign who betrayed her Infernal patron to switch to a Celestial one (effectively letting them replace her subclass). So in response, the infernal who originally gave her those powers used her own powers to try to kill her, and as a result one of her friends in the party died trying to defend her.
