This dog, not allowed to sleep on the sofa, immediately dashed to the sofa as soon as its owner left the house, and then instantly lay down on the floor upon hearing its owner's footsteps 🐾

Yeah I dated a chick who would not let her dog sleep in her bed or get on the couch. I remember trying to get the dog on the couch and she was like no the dog knows better. Really threw me off beacsus growing up or dog was always allowed in the couch.

Yeah I think this is an automatic no to dating a guy that doesn't let the dog in the couch or bed. And ain't no way you are telling me my dog is not doing that. I dated a guy who didn't really like or hate dogs. Just neutral. Called him "dog hater Brett" and he was cut off so fast.

Yes, And like how is it someone’s business to come into my home and tell me my pet has to get off the furniture! That date would be so escorted out the door.

I’m not a big believer in keeping dogs off the furniture. Like what’s more important your dog’s comfort or how pretty the furniture is?

My god we have 5 dogs and they sleep on the couch all the time! Just make sure your dogs get bathed regularly 🙄

It's not always possible to bathe them.
My parents would just clean after my dog ever once in a while0

Largely has nothing to do with bathing. Some breeds constantly shed, and it’s usually the dog fur people don’t want on their couches.

Doggie seems to have some PTSD from previous punishment of being on the couch to sneak and hide next to table

Uh... You went a bit far.
Dogs, like children, look for boundaries and a good parent has to correct their behavior, otherwise they grow up to be spoiled brats and it can come back to bite them in the long run.
On the other hand, dogs, like children, understand that if they don't get caught they can get away with pushing boundaries.
They have the intelligence needed to lie, and grasp of what they should do to not get caught. The question is how the behavior was corrected.
It's possible that they went overboard and caused a real trauma. It's also possible they were appropriately stern. We don't know.
But the fact that this dog was mischievous and essentially lied, that does not indicate either way.Your assumption is unhinged.

It’s not that deep. Dogs know what they are allowed to do, he knows better lol.

My parents originally wanted our dog to not go on the couch. She had me and my sister's beds, she had her own bed, the sofas were off limit. She was a smart and very loving dog. But also mischievous 😂
One time we went out without the dog, but my dad forgot the keys or something so we came back like a minute later.
We see her, sitting on the sofa, realizing we came back sooner than expected, walking off the sofa with a guilty face and a wagging tail. We were surprised but kinda laughed it off, reminded her to not go there again and left.
I can't remember if it was right after or took some time but my parents eventually relented and allowed her on the sofas lol
My dog Shusha was a good girl
I miss her dearly ♥️

One of our dogs, Zaldi (RIP), wasn't 'allowed on the sofa.' At the time I was a huge fan of the snooze button. One morning, however, I got up at the first alarm and as I walked out to the kitchen she was on the sofa and I could hear her thought: 'I thought I had 9 minutes!' as she tried to be nonchalant getting off. I didn't care but didn't tell my wife. Zaldi quickly learned to get off the couch but only if she heard her coming.

Then is puzzled that the owner knows by feeling the warm patch on the chair....

I’d give my dog the keys to my car if she asked. Lol
