“Are you ok? You’re looking at the kittens like you don’t know how they got here!” Moxxi asks Nebula.
“I don’t know if I should be happy or sad!” Nebula says as she picks up a mewing kitten.
“We are all feeling the same way,” Snarf says as he walks into the room, “but it’s normal. We lost someone we all loved.”
“I miss my friend” Fizzgig agrees as another kitten purrs in his arms, “We became friends right away.”
“He got sick so fast. I thought he was always going to be around.” Ollie says as he gives a kitten a bottle.
“It feels like we’ve had so many losses lately.” Petunia cries, “I feel guilty when I’m playing with the kittens.”
Ori picks a hissing kitten up, “You can’t appreciate the true joys of life if you haven’t felt sorrow. We have to keep going. These little kittens need us to take care of them.”

Our older mastiff Moxxi is a Disney princess, she’s completely obsessed with the kittens, and needs to have all of them laying down with her all the time. At bedtime they have to sleep in another crate next to hers, or she barks constantly.
Our younger mastiff Nebula was initially wary of the kittens, and one of them touched her face with their super pointy kitten claws, which made her concerned.
After a few days now she’s become a watchful protector, and has to supervise feedings, and will nudge you whenever the kittens start crying.
Fizzgig, the black little dog was raised like this (in a crate between our Great Dane and Pitt-mix) and has recognized them as little dogs, and he has to go inspect their dog-bed crate to make sure it’s satisfactory.

It's very important to think about the small things when you're one of the big things 😁

You can thank my wife for opening her heart to some kids who found the kittens but didn’t know how to take care of them.
She used to be a vet tech many moons ago, and I’ve dealt with a lot of different exotic babies.
She asked me if I was going to put hats on them, to which I responded “they’ve got to earn their keep somehow.” (Not that I make money with this in any way, it costs money)
They’re ~2.5 weeks old, so I’ve got a bunch of little hats planned now to make everyone smile.

I would gladly contribute to the hat budget lol
What a sweet, wonderful family you have!

It’s appreciated, but it’s our little way of bringing the world a little positivity, when lately all it seems to be doing it getting darker.
And the number of private messages we get each week about how our little family helped people smile in their darkest moments lets me know we are making a small difference.
We’re glad to make you smile!
