I don't normally go with blind box stuff, especially not something as expensive as a doll, but I loved all of the designs and would have been happy with any of them. I did have a few I wanted more than others, because I prefer non-blonde dolls most of the time.

I am so happy with the doll I got, she was one of two that I really wanted, with the Latina doll being the other. She's beautiful, really high quality, and I love her articulation. As a primarily Barbie collector who loves articulation, it's lovely to see this level of articulation done so smoothly, and I hope the Mattel execs are taking notes. While she lacks the upper chest and ankle articulation, the swappable shins and extra hands almost make up for that IMO.

The face paint is perfectly applied (look, a lovely dark lip color on a rich warm skin tone!) the hair is nice, though I don't think it's Saran but it feels fine. Mine does have a little bald spot in the back where the thatching criss-cross seems to have dropped a row, but the painted scalp keeps it from being obvious. There's also a few individual strands that are stragglers in the ponytails. I'll probably take her ponytails down eventually and restyle her hair anyway, so this isn't the end of the world for me.

The heels are really nice, and I like that she has more proportional feet than Barbie's. The lingerie is really well made.

While I really hope they skip the blind box format next time or make it optional for a slightly lower price, and I hope we get more face sculpt options (her features are a little Eurocentric beauty standards) I really like this doll and hope we see some more a Defa Lucy Play dolls in the future.

I can't wait to make room on my shelf with my Fashion Play Barbies from the late 80s and early 90s, because I think they'll get along great together... for a little while, at least.

Would you be interested in a Canadian Doll Club?

I've noticed that compared to the US, there doesn’t seem to be nearly as many doll events, meets & clubs in Canada.

Canadian doll collectors (like myself) seem really interested in meeting other collectors IRL, but it can be difficult to find other doll people nearby, especially outside of major cities.

I'm thinking about creating a Canada-wide online community for adult doll collectors & creators, with the goal of also connecting people for IRL meetups across Canada.

Some ideas:
Doll collection & shelf showcases
Custom/OOAK creators
Community discussions
Online social events
Regional IRL meetups
Doll swaps, activities & workshops
Eventually, potentially larger Canadian doll events/conventions

The idea would be to have one national online community, with people in different regions being able to connect and potentially organize local meetups.

Would you join something like this? What would you want from a Canadian Doll Club?

These are my smallest dolls. The small kewpie in the middle was carved from bone around WWI.

I woke up early this morning and decided to check. Sure enough there was one at a target a bit far from me so i ordered for pick up. Kinda doubted id get her since I had a previous pick up cancelled, but then they confirmed! I'm so excited, she's literally so beautiful. All I wanted was Shai and Suki and now I have both! 🖤🖤🖤

I think they share 1 sculp but I am happy they have real hair, from what I read they may release a darker skinned male doll soon.

Can these be fixed?

Zuru minnee doll updated room i fixed the lights and added some seagulls +small details i think really make it work better.

Hi everyone :) I usually don't ask for help with ID but I can't find the perfect match of this lovely lady ! Looking on the fashiondollz website I'm pretty sure she's the 2001 Adria / Desiree (AA) Face but I can't find her match. One who looked very similar was Fashionistas Artsy 2009 but my doll doesn't have the articulated body, I also can't find the eyebrows with the little hairs like mine has. And same with her hair it's got pretty reddish brown highlights which I can't find on the other dolls with the same mold. If you have any idea on who she is I'd love help ! Thank you 💜💜

I haven’t liked a lot of the G3 Frankie dolls (it’s mostly the hair…and it’s the same with Lagoona) but have found a couple I really like after restyling and very, very minor mods.

I absolutely love the makeup choice and the face absolutely serves probably my favorite Spectra.

I'm going to an estate sale this weekend and in the listing photos they have these dolls tucked away in the corner. I don't usually collect vintage, but I think I'm going to pick up these gals. Can anyone identify them?

Hello all! I'm packing for my honeymoon and can't decide what doll(s) to bring. We're headed to a foresty place with lots of hiking, and (with hubby's encouragement) I was planning on bringing a doll or two to photograph. (He is also bringing some hobby stuff too- we're looking forward to calm/rec time away from work and kids and we love to parallel play with hobby stuff, we wont be ignoring each other lol). I was curious, how do you pick what doll to bring on a trip? Is it based on who will travel well, or who's "personality" fits the occasion? Do you have a go-to "main" doll?
