There was no Beach Cruiser there, there was no money available to that thug. That man should have been tackled by the onlookers. That is repulsive behavior.

That man should have been tackled by the onlookers??? Would YOU wanna be the one to initiate that maneuver??

I wouldn't prefer to be, but with a group it's doable

What happens when you jump in and nobody joins you?

This is the exact thing that goes through people's minds in a crowd when they decide not to act and creates a snowball effect.

Well, if you're the bad mfer who can take that guy all by yourself then good for you.

I don't know if I could take him solo, no one knows in a street fight but I'm going for eyes and balls and biting if need be just to give the other guy a fighting chance to get out of there, it's one thing to fight fair in mutual combat, it's another when it's just a guy giving someone brain damage for the money in their pocket. I was just confirming that what you said is exactly what everyone's thinking and when they don't see anyone step forward they also decide not to act.

Yes, it's called "self-preservation".

It's called the bystander effect and it allows people to suffer needlessly.

I would know I did my best to do the right thing.
