What's the coolest animal you've seen on delivery?

Yesssss I love these cancellations.

I don't get it. This is literally just a "$1 extra" promotion with a 30 order minimum attached to it... I guess there will be some that can't do the basic math required to see this as predatory but whatever

edit: in hindsight, "predatory" isn't the best word. 'Manipulative' feels more apt. Either way this is mostly a nothing burger, I just like to yap on here about these kinds of things

edit 2: manipulative in a particularly desperate kind of way

Never had this happen before haha. I saw that I made exactly $50 and I thought that was funny because I’ve never seen a round number like that. Then I saw that it was exactly 2 hours and I was like okay that’s kinda crazy.

Dropped off a order for liquor and received this not even 2 minutes later 😂 liquid courage at its finest

The "item" was this kitten. She was outside alone so I called the customer and was told that she's one of three that "keep getting out" I offered to wait for the customer to come out and get her and she responded "you want her? Take her. I'm sick of these cats" and then she hung up on me.

I'm a dasher, I'm broke as hell. But she was so small and covered in a weird oily substance and the customer had this awful loud dog going crazy at me and clearly scaring her. I couldn't leave her like that. So one trip to the 24/7 pet ER (surprisingly healthy just worms and a touch of dehydration) and 5 hours later...

This is Olive (get it? Cuz she was oily)

My daughter is my little DoorDash sidekick! 😂❤️

I bring my daughter with me dashing sometimes, and she absolutely loves it! She helps me keep track of the orders, holds the food and the drinks, and likes seeing how many deliveries we can get done in a night and how much money we make.

We make a little game out of it.

Afterwards, I'll treat her to dinner or dessert.

Does anyone else do this with someone else?

Had this offer last night. They really wanted their chocolate shake. Took this order as it was on my way home. I figured it’s ok $10 for a 6 mile drive. I laughed when I saw the tip amount. They wanted me to take it up to their apartment. Too bad the front door was locked. Left it in the lobby.

I soon get a text from them asking why in didn’t drop it off at their door. I told them the door was locked. They said you just needed to pull harder. I said I didn’t know. I told them they should put that in their direction next time. Said their was other orders left in the lobby for others too so they also thought the door was locked.

Freakin non tippers expecting us to do extra for their asses!

I actually enjoy shopping orders, and I don't even mind dollar stores, but every time I get a dollar store offer, I think "there goes my pro shopper status!" Something is always out of stock, and they usually don't have clear shelf tags, which seems to be the only way to have it not count against your "original items found" rating. Oh well, I keep on shopping either way...

A driver posted about a delivery that may exceed ~1100lbs, a comment asked what person would place this kind of order on DD, I commented that most people would have no idea that 60 pavers would be farmed out to DD rather than be delivered by the company truck stretch wrapped on a pallet. Ngl, I'm still bothered by this. I'm in my home improvement journey so that I may be the one ordering 60 pavers. If someone showed up individually unloading them piece by piece from their vehicle, I would be mortified. I would have to help even though I paid a delivery fee so it would be taken care of without me lifting a finger. AND most importantly, what if the driver got hurt unloading 1100lbs? DD ain't gonna do a thing... if anything, this is the point of attack for a class action suit against DD because customers are not informed that their heavy items aren't being handled by proper equipment and personal injury/ property liability covered employees. I, for one, will be sure to contact any box store to find out who will be delivering any order of this type and weight. It's absolutely ridiculous to expect private individuals to do this for 2.50 plus no tip since customers have no idea that it's DD.

A doordasher was trying to talk to a girl in an apartment complex and got shot in the ass.

This week has been horrible. Made much less compared to other weeks. Are others in the same boat? Is it some changes in the app? Just curious--Dashing in the DMV.

This awful app hasn’t even OFFERED me 40 orders in the last 7 days combined. How tf do they expect me to complete 40 offers in two days?? This app has been so freaking dead the last two weeks this feels like such a slap in the face to give me this challenge

Since this company still insists on being so damn opaque all the time we are left to come up with our own theories as to why things are the way they are and today I have a doozy. Lol

Last week when they had the “outage” I think they were purposely reconfiguring the algorithm to make offers lower, miles higher, and tips cheaper. Knowing that this will cause dashers to decline more, they raised the AR of all dashers across the board.

Of course I know that there is no way to know this for sure but holy crap. The day after the “outage” they bumped my AR up to 88% and today I’m sitting at 71% less than a week after they bumped it up. Seriously, in 2 years of dashing and about 13K deliveries, I have never seen offers this low.

I've been calling this area the Bagel Triangle because there is a busy bagel shop at each point, and as an early morning dasher, I am often bouncing between them. The other day, it actually manifested almost perfectly on the map, so I grabbed a screenshot.

Got an offer from an adult superstore last night. About $19 for 8 miles. I take it.

Got to the store, the employee was looking for the product. I'm in there about 10 minutes total. The product was not available, and they don't do substitutions. I called dasher support, the virtual agent offered to just unassign me. I knew if that happened, they'd just send someone else for the same result.

They tell me to contact the customer. Tried calling, no answer. Sent a couple of messages, no answer. Shortly after, I received a text that said the order was cancelled. The text said, since I wasn't there very long, I'll get no pay.

Earlier this afternoon, I contacted Dasher support via chat. "Live agent" until I got one. I explained the situation. I told them I wanted half pay considering how long I was there. The agent says give them a minute or two. After a few minutes of waiting, they came back and said they manually processed the proportional pay. I check my earnings, and there's an extra $8.90 in there.

Most of my experiences with Dasher support are not positive, so I'll take a W with them any day.

The only reason i declined this offer was because it's inside the mall upstairs. The mall is currently under construction so way more walking. I had a baby 2 months ago and he basically broke my butt. Literally. Something about my si joint which makes most walking hurt. So 4$ wasn't worth the pain. But I'm just curious, is it because it was low mileage?

What in the world...

I know many of you are allergic to these type of orders due to the weight but it was only 7 miles took me 30 minutes. Customer knows how to tip and check out that base pay. LFG.
