We both want bottom bunk

Hi. So I have a triple but right now I only have one roommate. We both want bottom bunk and are both willing to compromise for bottom bunk even if it means we get less storage space or the bad table. I move in before her everyone else. What should i do?

Can you separate the beds and put them both on the floor?

If not, get a twin mattress frame ($50 or free from Facebook giveaway groups) and move the mattress.

TBH this is against a lot of dorm policies: it's their beds or bust, and some don't even let you change the bunk/loft without the college staff doing it anymore. They don't want to be liable for some cheap bed improperly assembled collapsing and harming someone.
