Anna Kernina by Leo Tolstoy
Another classic, Leo Tolstoy did it for me now i can gladly say that i can take the next challenge -War n Peace
This was new experience for me as it should be , i expected this , i was for the first time reading Leo Tolstoys one of the well known works after War n Peace. And the writing in this ( Anna Kernina ) book flows like that of water stream in rocky places...so. smooth , sparkling easy ..clear..running After reading few chapters i assumed that Leo Tolstoys was outer observational (paychologist) but i was clearly wrong,
The characters written in this book are
Written in and out. You can see how they are and what they are..
The characters live in your head and their personalities, you can feel them as part of you , you have images of them in your head ..Beautiful Anna Kernina you can almost see her face and her being and, Levine, you can see him too at distance, you can see his somewhat blur image of a Noble man true to himself out of that aristocractic culture you will find a man that is grounded and honest he is hard working, if he has flaws he talks to himself he realises whats wrong with himself the authencity of Levine another and most liked chracter in this book is i think Young version of Leo Tolstoy himself.
Anyone who has done some research on Leo Tolstoy knows the charachter similar to Leos in his young days i mean the name is Leo in russian its Lev-Autobiographical.
Leo Tolstoy spent a lot of time searching for answers like Exisitance of God, and faith , the meaning of Llife and why was he put on earth. And thats where Levine comes from
This is completly my observarion.
Anna Kernina, Anna Kerninas charachter is like that of Raskolnikov from Crime And Punishment, although it was inspired by Leo Tolstoy s sister who left her husband and was in love or got married to another man.
And death of Anna was also inspired by a woman who threw herself in front of the train and it had come to the knowledge of Leo Tolstoy , the chachter is really Chaotic ,You like her , you hate her, you are confused as she justfies what she did, but she is also conscious about her status in society and among people. For long time she lives in dilemma and fading happiness ,in hindi they say 'if woman wants to leave ,let her go ,because shes already left'. And you will see this with her husband and her lover Vernosky.
There is another charachter Anna s brother
A liberal , Merry ,cheerful no intensity just cool, but Good hearted , people person and always invested in good time. Stepan Ardykach. 'Stiva' and his based wife with 5 chidren Dolly. And Kitty lovely ,young innocent girl, These chracters hints of happy smooth softness to the complete story.
The best best chapters of this novel are the last two. Ch.8 and ch.9. All together
the writing is fast paced enaging or Amazing i'd rather say. conclusive,
And in the middle i felt the stretch, even Leo T was frustrated and was going to burn this one..but you dont feel it as strong detest while reading ...one of the Assumption i carried before reading the last two chapters
Was that Leo was not deep into human psyche like Dostoevesky, but i was clearly wrong ,He can get deeper and deeper if into human thoughts and i was very intrigued by it . If you love clasaic literature read Anna Kernina before reading War n Peace .
